Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Master Tailor with expertise in high-end garment construction to join our bespoke fashion atelier. The ideal candidate will specialize in creating custom couture pieces, including evening gowns and wedding dresses, ensuring exceptional quality, fit, and craftsmanship. This role involves collaborating with designers, clients, and production teams to bring visionary designs to life through precise cutting, draping, and stitching techniques.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and execute custom tailoring for couture, evening wear, and wedding dresses, from initial concept to final fitting.
• Perform expert fabric cutting, pattern making, and draping to achieve flawless silhouettes and fits tailored to individual client measurements.
• Execute advanced stitching techniques, including hand-sewing, machine stitching, and finishing details such as beading, embroidery, and intricate seam work.
• Consult with clients to understand their vision, provide fabric recommendations, and conduct fittings to ensure perfect alterations and adjustments.
• Collaborate with fashion designers and stylists to interpret sketches and mood boards into wearable garments.
• Maintain high standards of quality control, inspecting garments for defects and ensuring timely completion of projects.
• Mentor junior tailors and apprentices on advanced techniques in couture and bridal fashion.
• Manage inventory of fabrics, threads, and tools, sourcing high-quality materials as needed.

Qualifications and Skills

• Proven experience as a Master Tailor with at least 10 years in the fashion industry, specializing in couture, evening, and wedding dresses.
• Mastery of cutting, draping, and stitching techniques, with a deep understanding of fabric behavior and garment construction.
• Proficiency in working with luxurious fabrics such as silk, chiffon, lace, satin, and tulle.
• Strong knowledge of couture methods, including French seams, boning, corsetry, and embellishments.
• Excellent attention to detail, precision, and problem-solving skills to handle complex designs and alterations.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment while maintaining artistic integrity.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for client interactions and team collaboration.
• Formal training in fashion design or tailoring from a recognized institution is preferred; portfolio of previous work required.
