Job summary

A marine operations company in Abu Dhabi is seeking a responsible individual to ensure the seaworthiness and operational safety of their vessels. You will implement safety and environmental policies, conduct inspections, and provide training to new crew members. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of marine regulations and a commitment to maintaining high safety standards. This position is crucial for the safety of crew, cargo, and equipment.

  • Provide training to new crew members.
  • Periodically check vessel certification and carry out necessary repairs.
Job description
  • Fully responsible for the seaworthiness and the safe, efficient and economic operation of the vessel, and for the safety of all crew, cargo and equipment on board.
  • Implement the safety and environmental protection policy of the Company and as per marine regulations.
  • Conduct regular inspections & safety meetings on board as per Company MSMS.
  • Provide adequate training to new crew members to ensure they are well familiarized with their duties and operations on board.
  • Review MSMS and report any issues to shore-based management.
  • Ensure that any action taken is in the best interests of the passengers, crew, vessel and the marine environment.
  • Periodically check the vessel for valid in-date certification to ensure its suitability for intended projects.
  • Ensure that any necessary repairs to vessel and other marine equipment are promptly carried out as per planned schedules and manufacturer’s instructions.
  • Implement guidelines for voyage planning, navigational safety and protection of the marine environment.
  • Compliance in accordance with Company codes, legal requirements of ISM & ISPS, IMO regulations, Policy of Integrity & Code of Conduct and HSE standards.
