Job summary

InterContinental Hotels Group is seeking a skilled Masonry and Painting Technician for our luxury Ras Al Khaimah resort. You will perform repairs, plastering, tiling, and painting across guest areas and back‑of‑house facilities to uphold premium resort standards.

Minimum 2 years’ experience in masonry and painting is required. Ability to work independently within the Engineering team and to support shifts, weekends, and holidays will be valued. UAE hospitality experience preferred.

• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in masonry and painting.
• Practical experience in masonry repairs and painting is essential.
• Knowledge of plastering, tiling, surface preparation and finishing works is preferred.
• Ability to use masonry and painting tools safely and effectively.
• Attention to detail with focus on luxury resort standards.

Responsibilities

• Carry out masonry repairs and maintenance including plastering, concrete repairs, stonework and tiling.
• Prepare and paint walls, ceilings, equipment and other surfaces across guest areas.
• Repair cracks, damaged walls, flooring and other finishes to maintain standards.
• Apply paint, varnish, enamel and other finishes with proper techniques.
• Mix and match paint colours and prepare surfaces through sanding and sealing.
• Assist with installation of floor tiles and false ceilings where needed.
• Conduct regular inspections and complete maintenance work orders efficiently.
• Ensure masonry and painting work is high quality with minimal guest disruption.
• Maintain tools, equipment and work areas in a clean and safe condition.
• Follow health, safety and fire life safety procedures and energy initiatives.

A little taste of your day-to-day:

• Carrying out masonry repairs and maintenance, including plastering, concrete repairs, stonework, ceramic tiling, marble works and surface restoration.

• Preparing and painting walls, ceilings, equipment and other surfaces across guest rooms, public areas and back-of-house facilities.

• Repairing cracks, damaged walls, tiles, flooring and other structural finishes to maintain the resort's appearance and standards.

• Applying paint, varnish, enamel and other finishes using appropriate tools and techniques.

• Mixing and matching paint colours and preparing surfaces through sanding, filling, sealing and plastering.

• Assisting with the repair and installation of floor tiles, vinyl flooring and false ceilings.

• Conducting regular inspections and completing assigned maintenance work orders efficiently.

• Ensuring all masonry and painting work is completed to a high standard, with minimal disruption to guests and resort operations.

• Maintaining tools, equipment and work areas in a clean, safe and organised condition.

• Following health, safety and fire life safety procedures while supporting the resort's preventive maintenance and energy conservation initiatives.

What We need from you:

• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in masonry and painting, preferably within a hotel, resort or similar hospitality environment.

• Practical experience in both masonry repairs and painting is essential.

• Good knowledge of plastering, tiling, surface preparation, painting techniques and finishing works.

• Ability to use masonry and painting tools, equipment and materials safely and effectively.

• Good attention to detail, with a strong focus on quality workmanship and maintaining luxury resort standards.

• Ability to work independently and as part of the Engineering team.

• Basic communication skills and flexibility to work shifts, weekends and public holidays when required.

• Vocational or technical certification in a related trade would be an advantage.
