Job summary

IHG Hotels & Resorts in Ras Al Khaimah seeks a skilled Masonry and Paint Technician to maintain the luxury resort's appearance. You will carry out masonry repairs, plastering, painting walls, and surface finishing across guest rooms and public areas, ensuring high standards of quality and safety in a hospitality setting.

With minimum 2 years in hotel maintenance, you will work within the Engineering team, may include shifts, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in masonry and painting, preferably in hotel or resort settings.
• Proficient in plastering, tiling, surface prep and finishing techniques.
• Able to use masonry and painting tools safely and effectively.

Responsibilities

• Carry out masonry repairs and maintenance, including plastering, concrete repairs, stonework, tiling, marble works and surface restoration.
• Prepare and paint walls, ceilings, equipment and other surfaces across guest areas and back-of-house facilities.
• Repair cracks, damaged walls, tiles, flooring and other finishes to maintain resort standards.
• Apply paint, varnish, enamel and other finishes using appropriate tools.
• Assist with floor tiles, vinyl flooring and false ceilings and conduct regular inspections.

A little taste of your day-to-day:

• Carrying out masonry repairs and maintenance, including plastering, concrete repairs, stonework, ceramic tiling, marble works and surface restoration.
• Preparing and painting walls, ceilings, equipment and other surfaces across guest rooms, public areas and back-of-house facilities.
• Repairing cracks, damaged walls, tiles, flooring and other structural finishes to maintain the resort's appearance and standards.
• Applying paint, varnish, enamel and other finishes using appropriate tools and techniques.
• Mixing and matching paint colours and preparing surfaces through sanding, filling, sealing and plastering.
• Assisting with the repair and installation of floor tiles, vinyl flooring and false ceilings.
• Conducting regular inspections and completing assigned maintenance work orders efficiently.
• Ensuring all masonry and painting work is completed to a high standard, with minimal disruption to guests and resort operations.
• Maintaining tools, equipment and work areas in a clean, safe and organised condition.
• Following health, safety and fire life safety procedures while supporting the resort's preventive maintenance and energy conservation initiatives.

What We need from you:

• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in masonry and painting, preferably within a hotel, resort or similar hospitality environment.
• Practical experience in both masonry repairs and painting is essential.
• Good knowledge of plastering, tiling, surface preparation, painting techniques and finishing works.
• Ability to use masonry and painting tools, equipment and materials safely and effectively.
• Good attention to detail, with a strong focus on quality workmanship and maintaining luxury resort standards.
• Ability to work independently and as part of the Engineering team.
• Basic communication skills and flexibility to work shifts, weekends and public holidays when required.
• Vocational or technical certification in a related trade would be an advantage.
