Job summary

Peergrowth Consultancy Co. seeks an experienced Marine Engineering Manager to lead our engine maintenance and overhaul operations.

The role drives a multidisciplinary team, oversees complex marine engine projects and ensures adherence to OEM, Class and Flag standards. You will provide technical leadership across MRO activities for main and auxiliary engines, manage budgets, foster client relations, and pursue continuous improvements in safety and service delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelors in Marine Engineering or Mechanical Engineering or related technical discipline.
• 10 to 15 years of marine engine MRO experience with at least 5 years in management or supervision.
• OEM certifications from MAN Wärtsilä Caterpillar MTU Cummins and others are mandatory.
• Proven track record in shipyards, drydocks or marine engine service facilities.
• Expertise in high-speed and medium-speed marine diesel engines.
• Strong leadership, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication and client management abilities.
• Fluent in English; Arabic knowledge is an advantage.
• Proficient in MS Office, ERP systems and technical reporting tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and develop a team of marine engineers, supervisors and technicians.
• Plan manpower and allocate resources for timely, cost-efficient delivery.
• Oversee maintenance, repair and overhaul activities for main and auxiliary engines.
• Supervise overhauls and troubleshooting for OEMs including MAN, Wärtsilä, Caterpillar, MTU, Yanmar and MAK.
• Ensure accurate fault diagnosis, root cause analysis and quality repair execution.
• Approve work scopes, procedures and technical reports.
• Maintain compliance with Class, Flag, OEM and HSE standards.
• Manage spare parts requisitions, documentation and performance tracking.
• Coordinate with project management, QA/QC, planning and procurement.
• Build client relationships and represent the company in technical discussions.
• Drive continuous improvement in processes, safety and service delivery.
• Review risk assessments, method statements and work permits.
• Monitor workshop calibration, tooling standards and audit readiness.
• Prepare departmental budgets, cost forecasts and performance reports.
• Track project profitability and financial performance.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and partnerships to strengthen service capabilities.
• Contribute to strategic and business development initiatives.
