Job summary

A leading global consulting firm in Abu Dhabi is seeking a Manager Guarantees to oversee trade finance operations. The role involves managing policies, ensuring compliance, and collaborating with business units to achieve operational excellence. Candidates should have a Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Banking, or Business Administration, along with at least 7 years of experience in trade finance or guarantees operations. Proficiency in SWIFT and strong analytical skills are required. Bilingual proficiency in English and Arabic is preferred.

About the Role

The Manager Guarantees is responsible for overseeing the end-to-end operations of guarantees within trade finance. This includes managing processes, implementing policies, ensuring compliance, and supporting business units in achieving operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage centralized trade finance operations related to guarantees.
  • Develop and implement operational policies, procedures, and user manuals.
  • Collaborate with business units to understand and fulfill operational support needs.
  • Oversee transitions to new systems or enhancements to ensure smooth and accurate implementation.
  • Manage and deliver trade finance projects on time and within budget.
  • Ensure timely execution of transactions as per service level agreements and turnaround targets.
  • Continuously review and improve department workflows for efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Ensure full compliance with internal policies and external regulations during transaction processing.
  • Maintain accurate transaction records and manage an effective archival and retrieval system.
  • Monitor customer transactions, identify exceptions, and elevate as necessary.
  • Train, guide, and motivate team members to maintain high performance.
  • Prepare regular management reports (MIS) for monitoring and control.
  • Ensure readiness for internal and external audits with satisfactory outcomes.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Banking, or Business Administration.
  • Professional certifications preferred (CITF, CDCS, CSDG).
  • Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in trade finance or guarantees operations.
  • Proficient in SWIFT, core banking systems, and Microsoft Office tools.
  • Strong analytical, decision‑making, and communication skills.
  • Bilingual proficiency (English required; Arabic preferred).
