Job summary

Dubai Holding Entertainment is seeking an experienced leader to oversee the Rides and Attractions Maintenance function. Drive preventive maintenance programmes, lead a multidisciplinary team, and ensure safe, reliable operation of rides and facilities across our entertainment assets.

You will manage budgets, ensure regulatory compliance, and collaborate with operations, learning, and leadership teams to deliver outstanding guest experiences.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field; postgraduate quals are a plus.
• Significant experience in theme parks, attractions, or similar tech services.
• Proven leadership experience managing maintenance or facilities teams.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, controls and automation systems.
• Experience in maintenance planning, budgeting and operational scheduling.
• Solid understanding of safety, risk management and regulatory compliance.
• Ability to lead teams, develop talent and drive continuous improvement.
• Strong stakeholder management skills across multiple functions and external partners.

Responsibilities

• Lead preventive maintenance planning and annual testing programmes to maximise ride availability.
• Drive operational excellence by optimising Total Hourly Ride Capacity (THRC).
• Oversee maintenance, repair, and lifecycle management of rides, facilities and infrastructure.
• Manage technical services including facilities, landscape, logistics, and model shop operations.
• Lead and develop a multidisciplinary maintenance team with recruitment and performance management.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental and regulatory standards.
• Prepare and manage annual operating and capital budgets; monitor performance and costs.
• Oversee contractor relationships and coordinate with external specialists for quality service.
• Drive continuous improvement by proactively resolving technical issues.
• Manage technical projects from development to handover within scope, time, and budget.
• Produce and present technical reports and performance metrics to inform decisions.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders across operations, maintenance, learning and development, and leadership.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic leader to oversee the Rides and Attractions Maintenance function, ensuring operational excellence, safety, and reliability across our world-class entertainment assets.

In this role, you will drive the planning and execution of preventative maintenance programmes, lead a high-performing technical team, and play a critical role in delivering seamless guest experiences through the safe and efficient operation of rides and facilities.

Key responsibilities include:

• Lead the planning and delivery of preventive maintenance and annual testing programmes to maximise ride availability and performance
• Drive operational excellence by optimising Total Hourly Ride Capacity (THRC) across all equipment
• Oversee maintenance, repair, and lifecycle management of rides, attractions, facilities, utilities, and associated infrastructure
• Manage the full spectrum of technical services, including facilities, landscape, logistics, and model shop operations
• Lead, develop, and inspire a multidisciplinary maintenance team, including recruitment, training, and performance management
• Ensure compliance with all health, safety, environmental, and regulatory standards, fostering a strong safety-first culture
• Prepare and manage annual operating and capital expenditure budgets, monitoring performance and cost efficiencies
• Oversee contractor relationships and coordinate with external specialists to ensure high-quality service delivery
• Drive continuous improvement by identifying and resolving technical issues proactively
• Manage technical projects from development through to operational handover, ensuring delivery within scope, time, and budget
• Produce and present technical reports and performance metrics to inform decision-making and track progress against business goals
• Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders across operations, maintenance, learning and development, and leadership teams

About You

To be successful in this role, you will bring a strong blend of technical expertise, leadership capability, and commercial awareness within a complex operational environment.

You will ideally have:

• A Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related discipline (postgraduate qualifications or professional certifications are advantageous)
• Significant experience within theme parks, attractions, or a comparable technical services environment
• Proven leadership experience managing maintenance or facilities teams at a managerial level
• Strong technical knowledge across mechanical, electrical, controls and automation systems, including motors, utilities, and infrastructure
• Experience in maintenance planning, budgeting, and operational scheduling
• Sound understanding of safety, risk management, and compliance within an engineering environment
• Demonstrated ability to lead teams, develop talent, and foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement
• Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate across multiple functions and external partners
• Proficiency in IT systems, technical reporting tools, and Microsoft Office applications
• Flexibility to work varied hours and adapt to operational requirements, including working at heights where required
