Job summary

A leading HR solutions provider is seeking a Maintenance Superintendent in Abu Dhabi. The ideal candidate will have 7-10 years of operating experience in the alumina industry and at least 3 years as a Maintenance Superintendent. Responsibilities

Safety

Ensuring that all relevant safety aspects from a maintainability perspective are taken into consideration during and post the feasibility study. This includes major shut downs, preventative maintenance and shift breakdown activities and proactive actions such as condition monitoring.

Maintainability

Ensuring that during the feasibility study and during the detailed design and construction phases of the project, that the refinery will be "fit for purpose" and that due consideration is given to achieve the correct balance between CAPEX and OPEX.

This will involve input into activities such as crane studies and identification of specialised tooling.

Operating Costs

Ensuring that maintainability considerations are fully understood and that the best decisions are made to contain operating costs whilst working within the constraints of the project CAPEX.

CAPEX and Commissioning

Seeking out opportunities to add value to the project by improved maintenance practices as a result of an improved design.

Timing

Ensuring that maintaining concerns are raised at the earliest stage to enable joint and satisfactory resolution with the EPCM contractor, thus minimising any schedule slippages.

Qualifications

• Preferably Diploma level or above.
• 7-10 years operating experience in the alumina industry.
• 3 years experience as a Maintenance Superintendent.
• Ideally trade qualified.
• Demonstrated high level of maintenance best practices.
• Ability to train and mentor others.
• Strong understanding of the relationship between production and maintenance.
• Understands engineering principles.
• Good communication skills.
• Readily adapts to a team environment.
