Overview

Job Purpose
Emirates Group Facilities Management team, supports our extensive commercial hotels and residential property portfolios. Their aim is to constantly improve customer satisfaction and happiness through dedicated and quality service.

As a Maintenance Coordinator - Facilities, you will act as a coordinator of all maintenance activities pertaining to civil, mechanical, electrical and plumbing works in Company properties (or properties for which the Company has a maintenance obligation). Maintenance coordinator may be assigned to a specific type or specific property. The Company's definition of 'maintenance' is given in Property Services procedures manual.

In this role, you will;

  • Be a focal point of contact between users/occupants and Property Services' maintenance section and to facilitate all maintenance related works.
  • Liaise with Landlords, sub-contractors for unplanned or emergency maintenance activities to ensure that deadlines are met and that acceptable performance standards are provided.
  • This shall involve providing specific direction to subordinates and sub-contractors on an 'as-needed' basis.
  • It shall also require that the job holder be able to properly identify the nature of problems; allocate resources to the problem and resolve in an efficient and economical manner.
  • Ensure that planned maintenance works are carried out in a timely manner thereby ensuring that an efficient preventative maintenance regime is in place.
  • Job holder shall assist management in developing and adapting maintenance schedules as necessary.
  • Maintain full and proper records and conduct preliminary analysis of work executed, work pending, materials ordered and consumed and feedback to the appropriate personnel in order that Property Services can accurately monitor its' work against agreed departmental performance parameters.
  • Act as a conduit in the event of an emergency (fire, etc) so that emergency services are alerted in a timely fashion to minimize any damage to Companys' personnel and property.
  • Build in a good team atmosphere to ensure optimum motivation, morale and productivity levels in the Section.
  • Derive and maintain an accurate inventory of the major items of plant and equipment, together with its' associated service history to assist east of decision making when it comes to 'repair or replace' analysis.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years experience in Facilities / Maintenance.
  • Degree or Diploma in Mechanical / Civil Engineering
  • Good basic knowledge of building maintenance systems with a first hand (hands-on) background in either civil, mechanical, electrical or plumbing works.
  • Maintenance Coordinators must be computer literate or, if not, capable of being trained to used computer based maintenance systems.
  • The jobholder should also be capable of using Word or Excel (or similar word processing and spreadsheet packages).
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Project would be an advantage.
  • A good telephone manner is essential, as is the ability to communicate well in English.
  • Jobholder must have a UAE driving license
