Job summary

InterContinental Residences Dubai Business Bay seeks a passionate Culinary Apprentice (Commis 3) to support our culinary team, focusing on quality food preparation, consistent standards, and attention to detail in a luxury hospitality setting.

You will learn from experienced chefs, assist with mise en place and service support, and contribute to exceptional guest dining experiences across outlets and events in a premium residential hotel environment.

Qualifications

• Culinary qualification, vocational training, or hospitality-related studies preferred
• Previous kitchen experience or culinary internship preferred
• Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards preferred

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of ingredients for daily kitchen operations
• Support the cooking and presentation of menu items according to recipes and standards
• Ensure consistency in portion sizes, quality, and presentation
• Prepare mise en place for service periods
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of assigned workstations
• Ensure proper storage and handling of food products
• Support smooth kitchen operations during service periods
• Assist with receiving and storing deliveries according to established procedures
• Follow recipes, preparation methods, and plating guidelines
• Monitor food quality and report any concerns to senior chefs
• Ensure freshness and proper rotation of ingredients using FIFO procedures
• Support adherence to brand and culinary standards
• Maintain high standards of personal hygiene and grooming
• Follow food safety, HACCP, and sanitation procedures
• Ensure proper handling and storage of food products
• Use kitchen equipment safely and responsibly
• Work collaboratively with kitchen and service teams
• Follow instructions from senior chefs and supervisors
• Participate in training and skill development opportunities
• Demonstrate a willingness to learn and continuously improve
• Consistent preparation and presentation of quality food products
