Job summary

GAL is looking for a Logistics Technician (Tool Room) in Abu Dhabi to support day-to-day logistics, inventory, warehouse, and supply chain activities required for aviation operations.

Responsibilities include receiving, storage, issuance, tracking, and control of aircraft spare parts, materials, tools, and other inventory; ensuring tool accountability, calibration, and compliance with QA/HSE procedures.

Qualifications

• Must have basic understanding of inventory control, stock management, receiving, storage, material issuance, and supply chain processes.
• Exposure to aviation logistics, aircraft spare parts, MRO, military supply, technical warehousing or similar environment is advantageous.
• Familiarity with reading and interpreting technical documents, manuals, parts information, and technical data is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Issue and receive tools to/from authorized maintenance personnel and maintain accurate accountability records.
• Maintain positive control and traceability of tools throughout each issue-and-return cycle.
• Verify tools are serviceable and within applicable calibration/inspection validity before issue.
• Identify and report missing, damaged, unserviceable, or overdue tools in accordance with procedures.
• Maintain proper tool storage, shadow boards, and inventory records to support FOD prevention.
• Monitor calibrated tools and coordinate removal from service before calibration expiry.
• Conduct routine tool inventories and accountability checks.
• Ensure tools returned from maintenance are complete, clean, serviceable and stored correctly.
• Support investigations and reconciliation of tool discrepancies before maintenance activities or aircraft release.
• Comply with aviation maintenance, Quality, HSE, FOD prevention, and Tool Control Program requirements.

Job description

The Logistics Technician (Tool Room) will support day-to-day logistics, inventory, warehouse, and supply chain activities required for aviation operations.

Also, responsible for supporting the receipt, storage, issuance, tracking, and control of aircraft spare parts, materials, consumables, tools, and another inventory.

This position supports the organization’s Emiratization and early-career development objectives.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s Degree or Higher Diploma in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related discipline; OR High School Diploma with min 2 years of relevant logistics, warehousing, supply chain, technical stores, or military logistics experience.
• Internationally recognized certification or training in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Inventory/Warehouse Management, or a related discipline is an advantage.
• Basic knowledge of inventory management, warehousing, material control, procurement, or supply chain principles is preferred.

EXPERIENCE

• Candidates should have a basic understanding of inventory control, stock management, receiving, storage, material issuance, and supply chain processes, gained through academic studies, OJT, internships, or final-year projects. Relevant OJT, internship, or academic project exposure will be considered an advantage.
• Preference will be given to candidates with exposure through Experience, OJT, internships, academic projects, or practical training in aviation logistics, aircraft spare parts, MRO, military supply, technical warehousing, or a similar environment.
• Exposure to reading and interpreting technical documents, manuals, parts information, and technical data would be an advantage.

OTHER DESIRED SKILLS

• Must be able to read, write and understand English.
• Good computer skills, particularly Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Familiarity with ERP, warehouse management, or automated supply systems is preferred.
• HAZMAT awareness or formal HAZMAT training is an advantage but may be provided after joining.
