Job summary

Stantec seeks a Lighting Designer to lead architectural, interior, and exterior lighting efforts in the Dubai area. The role covers photometrics, controls integration with BMS, and collaboration with architects and engineers on façade and landscape lighting projects.

Responsibilities include coordinating with MEP teams, preparing design narratives, and mentoring junior designers while ensuring compliance with standards like CIBSE and IES. ALD/IALD preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Architectural Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Architecture, or Interior Design with a strong lighting component.
• 8–12 years of dedicated lighting design experience, with 5+ years in the Middle East or Gulf region.
• Portfolio of hospitality, cultural, retail, or mixed-use projects at senior design level.
• ALD/IALD/LC designation is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead lighting design concepts from schematic to construction documentation and site completion.
• Prepare photometric calculations, layouts, and schedules using AGi32, DIALux Evo, or Relux.
• Design DALI-2, DMX/RDM, Casambi, and KNX systems integrated with BMS.
• Specify luminaires and collaborate with interior designers and architects.
• Prepare mood boards, renderings, and design narratives for client approvals.
• Coordinate with structural, MEP, and joinery teams on lighting details.
• Design exterior lighting for façades, landscapes, and public realms.
• Ensure compliance with energy standards and local guidelines.
• Mentor junior designers and contribute to library development.
• Support business development through technical proposals and client presentations.
