Job summary

Wood is seeking an experienced Lifting Supervisor to oversee all on-site lifting operations for a high-profile project in the UAE. You will ensure safety, coordinate with site teams, and maintain regulatory compliance across lifting activities.

The role requires at least 5 years of lifting supervision experience, a recognized lifting certification, and strong knowledge of cranes, rigging, and safety regulations in Abu Dhabi.

Qualifications

• Certified lifting operations professional (e.g., Lifting Supervisor Course or equivalent).
• Minimum of 5 years lifting supervision experience in construction.
• Extensive experience with cranes, hoisting, rigging, and lifting techniques.
• Familiarity with Abu Dhabi/UAE safety regulations for lifting operations.
• Strong knowledge of safety regulations, risk assessment, and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Oversee lifting operations on-site, ensuring safety, efficiency, and ADNOC standard compliance.
• Lead and supervise riggers, crane operators, and lifting personnel with training and guidance.
• Develop and review detailed lifting plans, assess loads, equipment, and rigging configurations.
• Coordinate lifting with other site activities and liaise with managers and subcontractors.
• Document incidents and investigations, implementing corrective actions and revisions.
• Ensure lifting documentation (inspections, permits) is complete and compliant.
• Provide regular reports on lifting operations to the project manager.

The Key Objectives For This Role Are

• Responsible for overseeing and managing all lifting operations on-site, ensuring safety, compliance, and efficiency in line with ADNOC standards and project requirements
• Oversee lifting operations on-site, ensuring they are performed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company policies, local laws, and international standards
• Safety Compliance: Ensure lifting operations are conducted in full compliance with health and safety regulations, including conducting risk assessments and implementing control measures to prevent accidents or incidents

Responsibilities

• Equipment Management: Monitor the condition and maintenance of lifting equipment (e.g., cranes, hoists, slings, etc.), ensuring all machinery is fit for use, properly inspected, and serviced according to schedules
• Team Supervision: Lead and supervise a team of riggers, crane operators, and other lifting personnel. Provide training and guidance on lifting procedures, safety protocols, and the proper use of equipment
• Lift Plans and Procedures: Develop, review, and implement detailed lifting plans, including the assessment of load weights, equipment requirements, and rigging configurations. Ensure all plans are approved before execution
• On-Site Coordination: Coordinate lifting operations with other construction activities to minimize disruptions and ensure timely project delivery. Liaise with site managers, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure smooth and efficient lifting operations
• Incident Reporting and Investigation: Document any lifting incidents or near-misses, conducting investigations as necessary Develop corrective actions and ensure that safety protocols are revised accordingly
• Compliance and Documentation: Ensure that all required lifting documentation (inspection records, permits, and licenses) are completed and maintained in accordance with regulatory requirements
• Reporting and Communication: Provide regular reports to the project manager on the status of lifting operations, highlighting any concerns, risks, or delays. Maintain clear and effective communication with the site team and stakeholders
