Western Bainoona Group in Abu Dhabi seeks a highly competent LEEA Certified Appointed Person (AP) to take overall responsibility for planning, execution, and safety of lifting operations on site.
The role requires producing Lift Plans, conducting risk assessments, selecting the correct lifting equipment, reading Crane Load Charts, calculating sling tension, SWL, and GBP, and using lift planning software such as AutoCAD, KranXpert, or CraniMAX.
We are seeking a highly competent and LEEA Certified Appointed Person (AP) to take overall responsibility for the planning, execution, and safety of lifting operations. The successful candidate will be the primary authority on site for all lifting activities, ensuring compliance with LOLER (Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations).
The Appointed Person will be responsible for producing comprehensive Lift Plans, conducting Risk Assessments, and selecting the appropriate lifting equipment to ensure zero incidents.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting Crane Load Charts (Duty Charts).
Strong mathematical skills for calculating Sling Tension, SWL (Safe Working Load), and Ground Bearing Pressure (GBP).
Ability to use lift planning software (e.g., AutoCAD, KranXpert, or CraniMAX) is a strong plus.
Deep knowledge of rigging hardware and rejection criteria (checking for damage to wire ropes, webbing, etc.).
Soft Skills:
Authoritative leadership style with the confidence to stop unsafe work.
Clear verbal and written communication skills (English is mandatory; secondary languages are a plus).
Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
Essential Certifications:
LEEA Certification: Must hold a valid LEEA Appointed Person for Lifting Operations certificate (or equivalent LEEA Diploma/TEAM Card holder.
Minimum 5–7 years of experience in lifting operations (Oil & Gas, Construction, or Heavy Engineering).
Proven track record of planning Critical/Complex Lifts (e.g., tandem lifts, blind lifts, heavy lifts over 50 tones).
