Job Purpose
To lead and manage the end-to-end development of private label products within the category assigned in alignment with business objectives of quality, cost efficiency, brand positioning, and launch timelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Product Development & Project Management: Identify, evaluate, and develop new private label products aligned with category strategies. Ensure product design, packaging, and regulatory compliance. Coordinate cross-functionally with finance, regulatory, QC, legal, and supply chain teams. Track and deliver launches as per agreed timelines.
- Vendor Development & Sourcing: Identify, evaluate, and onboard new manufacturers. Negotiate pricing, MOQs, lead times, and terms. Develop alternative supplier base for risk mitigation and cost leverage.
- Cost Management & Optimization: Drive product cost savings through sourcing, formulation efficiencies, and packaging innovations.
- Compliance & Quality Assurance: Ensure all products meet regulatory and quality standards. Liaise with internal / external teams for audits and testing requirements.
- Packaging Development: Lead packaging development for all private label products in collaboration with suppliers, packaging designers, and regulatory teams. Ensure that packaging is cost-effective, sustainable, aligned with brand identity, and compliant with legal and regulatory guidelines. Drive innovation in materials and formats to improve shelf appeal and functionality.
- Product Lifecycle Management: Monitor product performance, manage reformulations, relaunches, or rationalizations. Coordinate with marketing for website updating, support on technical information for any marketing activities.
- Market Research & Trend Tracking: Conduct competitor benchmarking and consumer insight research. Identify market trends to guide innovation pipeline.
