Job summary

Majid Al Futtaim is seeking a Manager – Legal to provide strategic and operational legal support for the Digital and Retail Media division in the UAE. The role involves advising on commercial contracts, data privacy, and regulatory matters while partnering with Commercial, Product, Marketing, Data Privacy, and Technology teams.

The successful candidate will draft and negotiate complex agreements, assess risks, and help implement governance policies to enable business growth within Jurisdiction

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Law from a recognized university.
• Minimum of 3 years’ relevant legal experience, preferably within the UAE and in a corporate, law firm, or service-oriented environment.
• Deliver high-quality, commercially sound, and timely legal reviews, contracts, and advice that support business objectives.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, negotiate, and advise on a broad range of commercial agreements, including digital advertising and media agreements, data sharing and processing agreements, partnerships, licensing, and vendor contracts.
• Provide strategic legal advice on commercial, regulatory, operational, and contractual matters, balancing legal risk with business objectives and growth opportunities.
• Advise on advertising, e-commerce, data protection, privacy, and cybersecurity laws and regulations to ensure compliance.
• Conduct legal research on emerging laws and industry trends, assessing impact and providing practical recommendations.
• Support development and implementation of legal policies, templates, and governance standards to enable efficient operations.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate legal and regulatory risks, including data retention, storage, usage, and cybersecurity requirements.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to support business initiatives and ensure timely delivery of legal support.

The Manager – Legal provides strategic and operational legal support to the Digital and Retail Media division, ensuring compliance across digital advertising, media partnerships, data-driven marketing initiatives, and retail media operations. The role partners closely with Commercial, Product, Marketing, Data Privacy, and Technology teams to enable business innovation, support growth, and effectively manage legal and regulatory risks.

ROLE PROFILE

• Draft, review, negotiate, and advise on a broad range of commercial agreements, including digital advertising and media agreements, data sharing and processing agreements, partnerships, licensing, and vendor contracts.
• Provide strategic legal advice to Digital and Retail Media stakeholders on commercial, regulatory, operational, and contractual matters, balancing legal risk with business objectives and growth opportunities.
• Advise on applicable advertising, e-commerce, data protection, privacy, and cybersecurity laws and regulations, ensuring digital marketing and retail media initiatives comply with relevant legal requirements.
• Conduct legal research and analysis on emerging laws, regulations, rulings, and industry trends, assessing their potential impact on Digital and Retail Media operations and providing practical recommendations.
• Support the development, review, and implementation of legal policies, procedures, contract templates, and best practices to strengthen legal governance and enable efficient business operations.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate legal and regulatory risks, including data retention, storage, usage, and cybersecurity requirements, while ensuring appropriate contractual protections are in place.
• Partner with cross-functional teams including Commercial, Product, Marketing, Data Privacy, Technology, and other stakeholders to support business initiatives, resolve legal matters, and ensure timely delivery of legal support.
• Maintain strong professional and technical capabilities through continuous development, while adhering to the organization’s Human Capital policies, procedures, governance standards, and applicable internal controls.

REQUIREMENTS

• Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Law from a recognized university, with a minimum of 3 years’ relevant legal experience, preferably within the UAE and in a corporate, law firm, or service-oriented environment.
• Deliver high-quality, commercially sound, and timely legal reviews, contracts, and advice that effectively support business objectives.
• Ensure timely and effective resolution of legal matters while proactively identifying, assessing, and mitigating legal and regulatory risks.
• Maintain compliance with applicable legislation, regulatory requirements, internal policies, procedures, and governance standards.
• Demonstrate strong legal and commercial acumen, with the ability to interpret and apply laws and regulations relevant to digital advertising, retail media, data privacy, e-commerce, and commercial contracts.
• Demonstrate excellent attention to detail, problem-solving and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and communicate legal requirements, policies, and regulatory updates clearly and effectively.
