Al Tayer Group in Dubai seeks a senior legal leader to oversee strategic transactions and corporate governance. You will act as lead innovator and negotiator for complex contracts, guiding drafting quality and risk mitigation while coordinating with business stakeholders.
The role entails supporting the Group's legal function, reviewing structures and contracting methods, and providing subject matter expertise for compliance. Fluent English required.
(1) Lead innovator and negotiator for all transactions, including exceptionally complex transactions.(2) Oversee quality of overall output, including delivery or oversight of complex drafting.(3) Providing direction on tactics, research and contextual awareness.(4) Senior liaison point with business stakeholders on the above.(5) Supporting the Al Tayer Group legal function by providing legal expertise and services, including:(6)(i) supporting the internal business units in strategy and execution of corporate objectives;(ii) reviewing, amending and approving legal structures and contracting methods;(iii) providing subject matter expertise for compliance and governance;(iv) leading contractual negotiations with external lawyers and/or counterparties; and(v) ensuring the CXO/Director level signatories within the Group are fully aware of the risks, mitigationsand key legal issues in any contractual commitment for the Group.
Strategic Roles and ResponsibilitiesLead innovative thinking, alongside Chief LegalOfficer Drive formulation of strategic goals and their practical implementation. Drafting oversight and control in relation to all transactions except exceptionally complex transactions. Overseeing team as policemen, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and industry best practice. Retaining contacts with senior external experts in relation to all matters requiring specialist expert advice.
Functional Roles and Responsibilities
Work closely with Chief Legal Officer and SLCs in ensuring legal concerns requiring senior level input are addressed as soon as possible.principals, suppliers and legal counsel of counter parties (non-Arabic). Oversee investigation of legal claims and complaints by or against the Group (non-Arabic), prepareanalysis to ensure that top management is made aware of all aspects of the claim/allegations. Assist in the formation of new businesses and verticals, and the restructuring of existing businesses and verticals. Oversee final terms and conditions for all key contracts between the Group and other parties and provide to CLO for final approval. Participate or lead management meetings as required and offer legal strategic direction and guidance. Advise heads of department and key management on legal matters pertaining to their responsibilities,potential liabilities, exposures and tactical options in order to facilitate fully informed decisions in line withrelevant SoAs.Comprehensively and succinctly synthesise large volumes of information. Meticulous attention to detail. Company governance awareness and ability to draft company governance documentation, including MoAs. Solution orientated in a practical and compliant manner, in line with corporate governance and principles. Ability to understand key financial documentation for businesses such as balance sheets, profit and lossaccounts and matters driving costs/profits.
