A leading HVAC manufacturer in Sharjah is seeking a Learning & Development Specialist to enhance the skills of employees through comprehensive training programs. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree, 5-8 years of relevant experience, and a strong understanding of HVAC/R fundamentals. This role contributes to the strategic growth and operational efficiency of the organization.

Qualifications

  • 5-8 years of proven experience as an L&D Specialist, Trainer, or a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of HVAC/R fundamentals is highly desirable.
  • Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP) or similar certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular skills gap analyses to identify training needs.
  • Develop and enforce mandatory safety training programs.
  • Facilitate soft skills training for frontline staff.
  • Manage the Learning Management System (LMS) and coordinate training schedules.
  • Implement evaluation frameworks to assess training effectiveness.

Role Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Learning & Development (L&D) Specialist to design, implement, and evaluate training programs that enhance the technical capabilities and professional skills of our employees. This role is critical in ensuring our field technicians, engineers, sales teams, and support staff are equipped with the latest industry knowledge, safety protocols, and customer service excellence to maintain our competitive edge.

Key Responsibilities

1. Training Needs Analysis & Program Design:

  • Conduct regular skills gap analyses in collaboration with department heads (Service, Installation, Sales, Engineering) to identify critical training needs.
  • Create and update training materials, including manuals, e-learning modules, videos, and hands-on workshop guides.

2. Safety & Compliance Training:

  • Develop and enforce mandatory safety training programs, including handling refrigerants (EPA 608 certification preparation), electrical safety, and working at heights.
  • Ensure all training content and practices comply with local, national, and international safety standards and regulations (OSHA, ASHRAE, etc.).

3. Soft Skills & Product Training:

  • Facilitate training on soft skills such as customer service, communication, and negotiation for frontline staff.
  • Conduct product knowledge training for sales and technical teams to effectively position and support our solutions in the market.

4. LMS & Program Management:

  • Manage the Learning Management System (LMS), including uploading content, tracking participation, and monitoring training completion rates.
  • Coordinate training schedules, logistics, and resources (internal trainers, external vendors, facilities).

5. Evaluation & Continuous Improvement:

  • Implement the Kirkpatrick Model or similar frameworks to evaluate training effectiveness (reaction, learning, behavior, results).
  • Gather feedback and use data to continuously improve training content, delivery methods, and overall L&D strategy.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Engineering, Education, or a related field.
  • 5-8 years of proven experience as an L&D Specialist, Trainer, or a similar role, preferably within the HVAC, construction, or related technical industry.
  • Strong understanding of HVAC/R fundamentals is highly desirable.
  • Experience with instructional design and developing technical training content.
  • Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP) or similar L&D certification will be prioritized.
