Job summary

AECOM is seeking an experienced site supervisor for the Freight Facilities Project in Ruwais, UAE. The role centers on leading a field supervision team, reviewing inspectors’ reports, and ensuring conformance with drawings, specifications, and HSE standards.

You will coordinate with contractors and authorities, monitor progress against the baseline program, and prepare technical and contractual documentation for the Resident Engineer.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years’ experience in rail/metro or major infrastructure projects.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline from a recognised institution.
• Proven experience in site supervision and management of inspection teams.
• Demonstrated expertise in utilities and civil works construction.
• Strong knowledge of construction specifications, standards, and quality control procedures.
• Experience with authority coordination and compliance in infrastructure projects.
• Proficiency in reviewing and approving technical submittals, shop drawings, and as-built documentation.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Competency in HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) standards and site safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Review Inspectors’ Daily Reports to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Prepare the Engineer’s Daily Diary summarizing daily activities and progress.
• Provide oversight of Inspectors’ daily activities and assign tasks.
• Review Contractor’s inspection, surveying, and testing requests for conformance.
• Review and approve Contractor’s shop drawings, materials, and methods.
• Monitor and verify Contractor’s survey team performance and setting-out accuracy.
• Prepare meeting minutes and technical correspondence.
• Coordinate with Contractor’s supervision on work sequence and schedules.
• Monitor progress against the approved baseline program.
• Conduct field inspections and advise the Resident Engineer and Contractor.”
• Prepare reports on technical, contractual, and procedural matters.
• Review and verify as-built drawings with inspectors and surveyors.
• Ensure activities comply with drawings, specs, and HSE standards.
• Identify non-conformances and initiate corrective actions.
• Support in reviewing submittals and project documentation.
• Maintain coordination between supervision and Contractor to resolve site issues.
• Review authority drawings for compliance with latest standards.
• Follow up on authority inspection requests and resolve comments.
• Ensure timely submission and approval of all authority NOCs.
• Coordinate with utility providers for connections and diversions.
• Attend authority meetings and provide technical input during progress discussions.
• Maintain records of authority communications and approvals.
