Job summary

Connect Resources is seeking an experienced Lead Telecom Engineer for UAE onshore Oil & Gas EPC projects. You will lead the telecom engineering team, ensuring timely delivery of all engineering activities across fibre, telephony, PAGA, CCTV, access control and radio systems.

The role requires a strong background in system architecture, design philosophies, and interfaces with I&C, Electrical and Civil teams.

Qualifications

• Minimum 12 years of experience in Telecom Engineering within onshore Oil & Gas EPC projects.
• Bachelor''s degree in Electronics, Telecommunications or Electrical Engineering.
• Strong design experience in Fibre Optic, Telephone, PAGA, CCTV, Access Control and Radio Systems.
• Experience preparing telecom design philosophies, system architecture, datasheets, cable schedules and layouts.
• Knowledge of IEC, ISO/IEC 11801, TIA and ADNOC engineering standards.
• Experience with AutoCAD and telecom design tools.
• Previous UAE/GCC and ADNOC project experience is an advantage.
• Proven ability to lead engineering teams and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead the telecom engineering team and ensure timely delivery of all engineering activities.
• Prepare telecom design basis, design philosophies and system architecture.
• Design and develop telecommunications systems for onshore Oil & Gas projects, including Fibre Optic, Telephone, PAGA, CCTV, Access Control and Radio Systems.
• Prepare technical datasheets, cable schedules, equipment layouts and material take-offs.
• Review and evaluate vendor technical documents and engineering submissions.
• Support procurement activities, including technical bid evaluations, vendor assessments and technical clarifications.
• Coordinate with I&C, Electrical and Civil engineering teams.
• Support FAT and SAT, site installation, testing and commissioning.
• Ensure all telecom designs comply with project specs, IEC, TIA and ADNOC standards.
• Monitor engineering progress, man-hours, budgets and deliverables.
• Report project status to the Engineering Manager.
• Ensure compliance with ADNOC HSE requirements and applicable engineering codes and regulations.

Job description

1. Lead the telecom engineering team and ensure timely delivery of all engineering activities.

2. Prepare telecom design basis, design philosophies and system architecture.

3. Design and develop telecommunications systems for onshore Oil & Gas projects, including:

   • Fibre Optic Systems

   • Telephone Systems

   • Public Address & General Alarm (PAGA)

   • CCTV Systems

   • Access Control Systems

   • Radio Systems

4. Prepare technical datasheets, cable schedules, equipment layouts and material take-offs.

5. Review and evaluate vendor technical documents and engineering submissions.

6. Support procurement activities, including technical bid evaluations, vendor assessments and technical clarifications.

7. Coordinate with Instrumentation & Control (I&C), Electrical and Civil engineering teams.

8. Support Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT).

9. Provide engineering support during site installation, construction, testing and commissioning.

10. Ensure all telecom designs comply with applicable project specifications, IEC, TIA and ADNOC engineering standards.

11. Monitor engineering progress, man-hours, budgets and deliverables.

12. Report project status, technical issues and progress to the Engineering Manager.

13. Ensure compliance with ADNOC HSE requirements and applicable engineering codes and regulations.
