Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Lead Site Architect to join a dynamic award-winning multi-disciplined company in Saudi Arabia for a post-contract role. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in managing the site execution of architectural projects, ensuring that the design is implemented to the highest standards, and resolving any issues that arise during the construction phase. A transferable iqama is a must. You will be responsible for overseeing the architectural aspects of the project on-site, working closely with contractors, consultants, and clients to ensure timely and quality delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Site Coordination & Oversight : Lead the architectural coordination and supervision on-site during the post-contract phase. Ensure that all architectural works align with the original design intent, specifications, and client requirements.
  • Quality Assurance & Control : Conduct regular site inspections and manage quality control processes to ensure that the construction is in accordance with the approved designs, drawings, and relevant codes and standards.
  • Problem-Solving : Address and resolve any architectural issues or discrepancies that arise during construction, ensuring that solutions are practical, cost-effective, and in line with the project goals.
  • Client & Stakeholder Liaison : Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, contractors, consultants, and other stakeholders regarding architectural matters. Provide regular updates on progress, issues, and solutions.
  • Collaboration with Project Teams : Work closely with the project manager, engineers, and other disciplines to ensure seamless integration of architectural elements with other aspects of the construction process.
  • Design Integrity : Ensure that the architectural design intent is maintained throughout the construction phase, providing feedback to the design team as necessary to address site-specific challenges.
  • Document Control : Review and approve shop drawings, material samples, and other construction documentation submitted by contractors, ensuring compliance with the design and project requirements.
  • Site Safety & Compliance : Ensure that the architectural work is executed following all safety regulations and complies with local building codes and project specifications.
  • Reporting : Prepare and submit regular site progress reports to senior management, highlighting any challenges, deviations, and corrective actions taken.
  • Mentoring : Provide guidance and leadership to junior site architects and site teams, ensuring that they adhere to best practices and maintain high levels of professionalism and competence.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture (Master’s degree is a plus).
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in architectural practice, with at least 5 years in a site-based post-contract role, specifically in the GCC region.
  • Site Management Expertise : Proven experience in managing the architectural aspects of large-scale construction projects, including oversight of contractors and coordination with multiple stakeholders.
  • Technical Knowledge : Strong understanding of architectural drawings, construction techniques, and local building codes and regulations (specifically within Saudi Arabia).
  • Problem-Solving Skills : Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to resolve site-specific challenges efficiently and effectively.
  • Communication Skills : Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. Arabic language skills are a plus.
  • Leadership : Ability to lead and coordinate a diverse site team and provide clear guidance to junior architects and contractors.
  • Attention to Detail : High level of attention to detail, ensuring that the project is completed in accordance with design specifications and quality standards.
  • Software Skills : Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, or similar architectural software. Familiarity with MS Office for reporting and documentation.
  • Experience in overseeing high-profile projects in sectors such as hospitality, residential, or commercial architecture.
  • Knowledge of sustainable architecture practices and green building certifications (e.g., LEED).
  • Experience in working with contractors, consultants, and authorities to resolve on-site design and construction issues.
