Job summary

Hill International in Abu Dhabi seeks an experienced Managing Surveyor to oversee cost management, payment reviews, variations, claims and final accounts across multiple infrastructure packages.

You will lead the quantity surveying team, manage budgets and cash-flow, review bids and payments, and ensure contracts and change control are applied with rigor. This role requires strong leadership and a deep understanding of FIDIC-based contracts, valuation principles, and risk management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in quantity surveying or related discipline.
• Chartered membership of RICS preferred or equivalent.
• Strong understanding of cost management principles and valuation.
• Experience with FIDIC-based contracts and change control.

Responsibilities

• Oversee cost management, payment reviews, variations and final accounts across infrastructure packages.
• Manage the quantity surveying team ensuring accurate assessments and timely deliverables.
• Review estimates, bills of quantities and tender documents for alignment with project scope.
• Support commercial tender evaluations, bidder clarifications and procurement recommendations.
• Review payment applications and provide substantiated recommendations within authority.
• Assess variations including scope, quantities, rates and budget implications.
• Prepare cost estimates for project elements and monitor cost implications of design changes.
• Coordinate with contracts, planning and delivery teams on claims and commercial risk.
