Job summary

WOOD plc in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, invites applications for Lead Project Engineer (Risk Management) - MEAC. The role focuses on providing specialist risk management across MEAC, reporting to the Head of Risk - MEAC, with involvement in major bids and projects in energy sectors.

The incumbent will develop risk management plans, lead risk workshops, maintain risk registers, and collaborate with Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Project Controls and Commercial teams to reduce risk

Qualifications

• Experience solving engineering or construction delivery challenges on complex projects.
• Curious and able to question assumptions.
• Ability to see how issues affect cost, schedule, quality and outcomes.
• Effective in working with multidisciplinary teams.
• Interest in developing specialist expertise in project risk management.
• Clear communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Support the development, implementation and maintenance of Project Risk Management Plans.
• Facilitate and support risk identification across all project phases.
• Facilitate risk workshops with multidisciplinary stakeholders.
• Maintain Risk Registers.
• Assess and prioritize risks related to cost, schedule, safety, technical performance, and commercial exposure.
• Develop risk mitigation and contingency plans with risk owners.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Project Controls, and Commercial teams to reduce risk.
• Ensure risk actions are integrated into schedules, budgets, and delivery plans.
• Prepare risk reports, dashboards, heat maps, and KRIs/KPIs.
• Escalate critical risks to senior leadership.
