Job description
Overview

Lead Process Engineer role within Wood's UAE Business Unit focusing on design, preparation of specifications, data sheets and analysis of process engineering requirements for a major onshore brownfield project in Dubai, UAE. This is a full-time office-based role with possible trips to Iraq if required.

Responsibilities
  • The Lead Process Engineer is engaged in the design, preparation of specifications, data sheets and analysis of process engineering requirements on a project.
  • Review and approve key process documentation from EPC Contractors to ensure proposed designs meet the technical requirements of the project.
  • Support tender or proposal activities per client standards, international codes, and project scope of work.
  • Plan and support process engineering design for field process engineering requirements, including preparation of basic design, data sheets and specifications; support design deliverables, FEED and detailed design of the process part of the project.
  • Ensure that the design is carried out as per industry standard practices and in conformance with the quality management system.
  • Coordinate with project team and client.
  • Assist in the preparation of project proposals and pre-qualification documents related to process engineering design.
  • Identify issues impeding project progress and report to Project Managers and Process Discipline Manager.
  • Assimilate new products and technology and stay updated on latest international standards in engineering design practices and their applications.
  • Identify new methodologies of work processes required for higher productivity.
  • As Lead Discipline Engineer, when assigned on projects, responsible for managing the team of engineers and designers to deliver the engineering requirements of the project.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering.
  • Minimum 18+ years of Oil and Gas experience.
  • Middle East experience preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent technical teamwork and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience and detailed knowledge of relevant international codes and standards.
  • Proficiency with engineering computer programs and general business software.
  • Ability to make independent decisions in planning, organizing and coordinating to develop solutions to complex problems.
