Job Description Summary

The On-Wing Support Lead Powerplant Engineer is responsible for leading and overseeing all aspects of site engineering standards and technical excellence. This includes ownership of technical vetting, router management, and the implementation of advanced technologies and new processes. The position plays a key role in defining and executing work scoping strategies, supporting the development of new capabilities, and managing special projects arising from continuous improvement initiatives such as Kaizen, action workouts, and strategic business opportunities.

The role supports business growth by identifying opportunities to expand continued time engine maintenance and enhances technical service quality through proactive management of inquiries, investigations, and regulatory audits. It provides strong leadership to the engineering organization, driving a high-performance culture through coaching, talent development, and pipeline management. The role also develops and leads operational readiness and technical compliance.

Applicants should be familiar with quick-turn aircraft engine maintenance, repair, and field services, as well as the operations of a PART-145 Repair Station.

Role Overview

  • Accountable for site engineering standards.
  • Accountable for technical vetting and router management.
  • Accountable for the implementation of advanced technologies.
  • Responsible for new process implementation (NPI).
  • Responsible for work scoping processes and new capabilities.
  • Implements special projects derived from Kaizen, action workouts, and business opportunities.
  • Identifies opportunities to expand continued time engine maintenance.
  • Provides leadership to the engineering organization on site.
  • Provides coaching for talent development.
  • Manages technical inquiries and response quality.
  • Manages quality investigations and regulatory audits.
  • Develops and leads pre-induction work scope reviews.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a minimum high school diploma with at least 6 years of related experience).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with engine maintenance, troubleshooting, and assembly.
  • Availability to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Willingness to support calls during off-hours in emergency situations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A proactive, 'can-do' attitude with commitment to team and customer objectives.
  • Desire to learn and grow with technological advancements and new engine models.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, including problem-solving.
  • Experience with LEAP, GE90, CFM, CF6, CF34, and GENX engines, including line maintenance, engine changes, module removal & installation, and LRU removals and installations.
  • Proven leadership experience in managing initiatives of moderate scope and impact.
  • Skills in quality, compliance, and customer satisfaction management.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with ability to document, plan, and execute tasks effectively.
