Job Purpose
The Lead Pipeline Engineer is responsible for leading and managing all pipeline engineering activities for ADNOC Offshore projects executed under the Project Management Consultancy (PMC) model. The role ensures that offshore and subsea pipeline systems are designed, reviewed, and executed in accordance with ADNOC requirements, international engineering standards, project specifications, HSE requirements, and schedule commitments throughout Concept, FEED, EPC, construction, installation, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and start-up phases.
Key Responsibilities
- Engineering Leadership
- Lead and coordinate pipeline engineering activities for offshore oil & gas developments.
- Manage a team of Pipeline Engineers, Senior Engineers, Specialists, and Designers.
- Ensure engineering deliverables are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with project quality requirements.
- Provide technical leadership and engineering solutions for complex offshore pipeline systems.

- Review subsea flowlines, risers, shore approaches, tie-ins, and subsea structures.
- Ensure compliance with ADNOC standards and applicable international codes including DNV, API, ISO and ASME.
- Review EPC Contractor engineering deliverables and provide timely comments.
- Monitor engineering progress against project schedule.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary interfaces with Process, Mechanical, Structural, Civil, Instrumentation, Electrical, Marine, Subsea, and HSE disciplines.
- Participate in design reviews, HAZID, HAZOP, SIL, Constructability, Value Engineering and Risk Assessment workshops.
- Support engineering change management and Management of Change (MOC) activities.
- Provide technical support during procurement, fabrication, offshore installation and hook-up activities.

- Review technical specifications.
- Prepare and review Material Requisitions.
- Evaluate Technical Bid Evaluations.
- Support procurement of line pipes, valves, fittings, coatings, insulation, and subsea equipment.
- HSE & Quality
- Promote ADNOC's HSE culture and ensure engineering activities comply with project HSE requirements.
- Ensure design complies with safety, operability, maintainability, and integrity requirements.
- Participate in engineering audits, safety reviews, and lessons learned workshops.
- Project Coordination
- Coordinate with Client, EPC Contractors, Vendors, Classification Authorities, and third-party consultants.
- Monitor project risks and recommend mitigation measures.
- Support project reporting and management reviews.
- Mentor junior engineers and develop technical capability within the engineering team.
Minimum Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline or equivalent from an accredited university, with a minimum of fifteen (15+) years of relevant experience in the Oil & Gas or Petrochemical industry, including a minimum of five (5) years (preferred) in the GCC region.
- Must have at least five (5) years of experience in a similar position on major Oil & Gas or Petrochemical projects, managing a team of Specialists, Senior Engineers, and Engineers.
- ADNOC & Offshore project experience is Required.
- Offshore project experience is required.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in ADNOC Offshore projects is required.
- Extensive experience in PMC, FEED, Detailed Engineering, and EPC projects.
- Proven experience in both Greenfield and Brownfield offshore developments.
- ADNOC Offshore PMC experience.
- Experience with major offshore developments involving subsea pipelines, flowlines, risers, and brownfield tie-ins.
- Experience supporting offshore construction, installation, commissioning, and start-up activities.
- Proven capability in leading multidisciplinary engineering teams on large-scale offshore projects.
