Job summary

Astron Group is seeking a Mechanical Inspector with 8–10 years of piping, welding inspection, and NDT experience in Abu Dhabi. The role requires ASNT Level II in RT, MT, PT, UT and valid welding inspection certification (CSWIP 3.1 or CWI).

You will verify drawings, procedures, and QA/QC documentation and coordinate corrective actions on site. The ideal candidate will interpret complex piping specifications, review ITPs, and ensure adherence to codes and standards while maintaining inspection

Qualifications

• Requires NDT inspection expertise and strong QA/QC coordination.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, piping specs, and inspection reports.
• Experience reviewing ITPs, procedures, and non-conformance reports.

Responsibilities

• Inspect piping and mechanical installations for compliance with drawings and specs.
• Conduct and oversee welding inspections pre/during/post welds, including joint prep and visual checks.
• Perform RT, MT, PT, UT NDT activities per certification scope.
• Verify materials, fittings, and workmanship against project specs.
• Review welding procedures, welder qualifications, and inspection docs.
• Verify NDT reports meet codes and acceptance criteria.
• Identify defects and coordinate corrective actions with site team.
• Review ITPs, method statements, checklists, and test reports.
• Maintain accurate inspection records and QA/QC documentation.
• Coordinate with construction teams and client representatives to resolve issues.
• Ensure compliance with safety requirements.
