Job summary

EDGE, based in Abu Dhabi, seeks a Principal AI Engineer to lead AI/ML, computer vision, and edge analytics across platforms. You will guide architecture, drive robust, production-ready solutions, and mentor multi-disciplinary teams while tackling latency, memory, and certifiability constraints.

The role requires hands-on Python/C++, DL proficiency, and experience delivering CV and video analytics in edge environments, with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in CS, AI, or engineering related field.
• 12+ years in software/AI/ML, CV, or related discipline.
• 4+ years in Principal/Lead/Architect roles.
• Strong Python and C/C++ hands-on experience.
• Experience deploying CV and video analytics.
• Knowledge of DL architectures and frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow).
• Experience with ROS2 and embedded platforms.
• Willingness to travel and provide field support.

Responsibilities

• Define software requirements from system-level needs and translate into robust architecture.
• Lead AI and computer vision software design, development, and deployment.
• Develop high-performance video analytics for edge/embedded platforms.
• Lead object detection, tracking, recognition, and classification algorithms.
• Develop novel AI/ML algorithms and select architectures per constraints.
• Design scalable software architectures and cross-team integration strategies.
• Resolve complex software and performance issues across embedded/PC platforms.
• Profile and optimize system resources (CPU/GPU/memory).
• Ensure software development follows V-model, quality gates, and safety standards.
• Provide mentorship and direction to technical teams without direct authority.
• Collaborate across AI, embedded, hardware, and systems teams to solve problems.
• Plan verification activities and participate in design reviews and readiness reviews.
• Support lifecycle from concept to production, deployment, and field support.
