Job Overview

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Demand Planning Lead is responsible for the development, approval, quality, and accuracy of SKU and asset-level forecasts across multiple product lines, including Managed Pressure Drilling, Drilling Services, Tubular Running Services, Wireline Services, Intervention Services, and Drilling Tools.

This role partners with global Geo Zones, Operations, and Finance teams to deliver accurate forecasts that reflect the best available business insights. The position is accountable for advancing demand planning maturity through the integration of asset-based planning, Make-to-Stock (MTS) and Make-to-Order (MTO) strategies, Service BOM frameworks, and structured planning processes to align operational demand, material requirements, and financial forecasts.

The Demand Planning Lead reports to the Global Planning Manager.

Responsibilities

Track and analyze forecast variance and bias, updating forecasts to continuously improve forecast accuracy, including segmentation of forecasted versus non-forecasted (MTS-driven) demand. Develop new product forecasts in collaboration with cross-functional teams, incorporating demand scenarios, ramp profiles, and service and repair consumption assumptions. Identify best practices and continuous improvement opportunities to advance demand planning maturity, standard operating procedures, and global consistency across Geo Zones. Balance supply and demand across product lines while identifying constraints related to repair capacity, asset availability, and material readiness. Own all demand and supply planning processes for assigned product lines, including related KPIs such as forecast accuracy, fill rate, inventory turns, and asset readiness. Lead governance of MTS and MTO strategies, including classification logic, stacking levels, and alignment with network lead times. Integrate asset-based demand planning methodologies, including repair demand, utilization-driven demand, and cadence-based planning, into forecasting processes. Develop and maintain Service BOMs and consumption models to improve demand signal quality and working capital efficiency. Drive inventory redeployment opportunities and network optimization initiatives, including DC/BP balancing, repositioning strategies, and lead-time alignment. Partner with manufacturing and repair facilities to improve operational performance metrics, including On-Time Delivery, Past Due, Lead Time, and material readiness. Ensure alignment between demand plans and repair schedules, with a focus on execution readiness beyond the 90-day horizon. Maintain safety and service quality as top priorities across all business activities. Ensure compliance with corporate governance standards, company policies, applicable laws, regulations, and industry practices. Collaborate with key internal and external stakeholders to document forecast changes, overrides, assumptions, and inputs for Sales and Operations Planning meetings. Incorporate operational demand signals, asset utilization, repair cycles, product launches and discontinuations, pricing changes, and competitive activity into forecasts. Partner closely with Marketing, Account Planning, Operations, Repair & Maintenance, and Replenishment teams to deliver accurate and executable demand plans. Present and review key forecast changes during monthly Sales and Operations Planning and operational cadence meetings, highlighting impacts to supply chain performance, operational readiness, and financial projections. Lead a structured monthly demand planning cadence across global and regional teams to align forecasts, supply plans, and execution plans. Support enhancements to demand planning systems, including requirements definition, system validation, and reporting tool development. Ensure forecasting processes and methodologies are consistently followed, standardized, and continuously improved across product lines and regions. Influence teams to adopt structured problem-solving methodologies to identify root causes and improve business processes. Develop scenarios and what-if analyses addressing demand variability, supply disruptions, and inventory strategy impacts.

Skills

Solid understanding of supply chain best practices and procedures. Strong demand planning, inventory management, and supply chain planning expertise. Knowledge of MTS and MTO planning strategies. Experience with asset-based demand planning methodologies. Understanding of Service BOM development and consumption modeling. Strong analytical and forecasting capabilities. Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across all organizational levels. Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with the ability to operate effectively in collaborative environments with senior stakeholders. Strong process management and continuous improvement mindset. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in team environments. Positive, supportive, and proactive approach to work. High level of integrity, ethics, and honesty. Knowledge of supervision, training, and personnel management principles and practices preferred.

Qualifications

Advanced degree preferred. Supply chain experience within Oil & Gas, automotive, industrial equipment, or advanced manufacturing environments preferred. CPIM certification preferred.
