Job summary

Mc Dermott is seeking a Senior Commissioning Engineer in Dubai to manage commissioning activities for major oil and gas projects. The ideal candidate should have over 8 years of experience in commissioning with strong skills in mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation systems.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years of experience in oil and gas commissioning projects with major contractors or consultants.
• Strong knowledge of commissioning, completions, and plant start‑up activities.
• Experience working across plant operations, maintenance, and construction interfaces.
• Strong understanding of punch‑list management and system handover processes.
• Proven troubleshooting ability for resolving technical issues during start‑up.
• Excellent communication skills for working with engineers and client stakeholders.
• Ability to work in demanding site environments and international locations.

Responsibilities

• Manage pre‑commissioning, commissioning, start‑up, and performance testing activities.
• Report to the Commissioning Manager and support with deliverables preparation.
• Participate in inspections, punch listing, and readiness verification.
• Support teams with discipline equipment checks, testing, and validation.
• Develop manuals for project handover and operational use.
• Prepare spares planning along with consumables requirements.
• Assist in developing commissioning and start‑up procedures.
• Perform function testing of systems to verify operational readiness.
• Troubleshoot operational issues during commissioning and start‑up phases.
• Supervise craft personnel involved in site activities.
• Coordinate with engineers, construction teams, and client representatives.
