Job summary

NMDC Group is seeking a Senior Commissioning Engineer in Abu Dhabi, UAE to lead electrical commissioning activities across projects within oil and gas. You will guide a team of technicians, manage SAT and energization, and ensure safe, compliant commissioning in line with project schedules.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and extensive commissioning experience in oil & gas, with strong coordination with QA/QC and clients. UAE residency or eligibility is expected.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
Minimum 12 years relevant experience in oil and gas with at least 4 years in a commissioning key role.

Responsibilities

Guide technical issues to electrical engineers & supervisors under responsibility.
Direct daily activities related to discipline SAT, energization and functional testing.
Provide technical support and problem resolving on different equipment.
Coordinate with QA/QC to ensure compliance with quality procedures and audits.
Analyze technical issues to initiate corrective actions and report to line management.
Interface with client, attend project meetings and ensure commissioning progress per schedule.
Prepare method statements, procedures and routines as required.
Lead technicians to undertake commissioning activities and ensure cross-discipline integration.
Conduct functional and operational tests for electrical systems.
Ensure testing documents are available and manage corrective actions on documents.
Identify design failures or lessons learned for future projects.

Jobs at this level are responsible to ensure that Commissioning tasks assigned are properly implemented as per work standards and procedures.

Responsibilities

Able to guide technical issue to several electrical engineers & supervisors under his responsibility.

Direct the daily activities related to discipline SAT, energization and functional testing.

Provide technical support and problem resolving on different equipment

Interact with QA/QC to ensure compliance with company quality procedures. Coordinate internal and client audit request.

Able to analyze technical issues to initiate an appropriate corrective action and report the same to the direct line management.

Able to interface with client as required, attend internal project meetings, ensure the progress of commissioning discipline in accordance to schedule.

Ensure all testing document are available to the testing team and coordinate with field engineering the any corrective action required on the document.

Identify any design failures or discrepancies that may be lessons learned for future projects and report same via line management.

Receives Project documentation and understands Scope of Work related to Electrical discipline.

Lead a team of technicians to undertake commissioning activities in projects.

Interfaces with other disciplines to ensure integration of activities.

Undertake functional and Operational tests for various Systems.

Preparation of method statements, procedures and routines where required.

Reports on work progress, bringing to notice potential problems or delays and recommends solutions.

Assist during the database preparation for pre-commissioning status index and commissioning technical database for Electrical Systems.

Plan, Monitor and assist in Vendor activities as required.

Ensure temporary supplies and commissioning spares are adequate for the subsystem testing.

Compliance in accordance with HSE Standard.
