Job summary

Parsons Dubai is seeking a Senior BIM CAD Technician to support infrastructure projects in the United Arab Emirates. You will manage CAD drawings and BIM models for wet and dry utilities, coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, and drive clash detection and design reviews.

The role requires a strong AutoCAD/Civil 3D/Navisworks skillset, CDE experience, and a detailed, delivery-focused mindset to ensure timely project outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Civil Engineering.
• Minimum 10 years of MEA or UAE experience in CAD drafting and BIM for infrastructure projects.
• At least 3 years of experience in utility pipe network modelling.
• Strong experience in wet and dry utilities projects, infrastructure model preparation, utility layouts, and drawing production.
• Software experience in AutoCAD, Autodesk Civil 3D, and Navisworks is required.
• Advanced knowledge of Common Data Environment usage and management for model production.
• Experience with Autodesk Forma and Bentley ProjectWise is preferred.
• MicroStation software knowledge is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of LOD requirements, BIM processes, model coordination, and design review workflows.
• Good understanding of DEWA, DM, and RTA standards and existing utilities management.
• Experience working to international BIM standards such as ISO 19650 is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of infrastructure wet and dry utilities model preparation and layout development.
• Experience with clash detection, issue management, model-based review, and multidisciplinary coordination.
• Understanding of ROW-related design, cross sections, and routing plan preparation.
• Ability to identify design and coordination issues and support practical solutions during review and delivery.
• Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with CAD/BIM Manager and engineers to ensure policy and QA compliance.
• Prepare, modify, coordinate, and manage infrastructure CAD drawings and BIM models for utilities.
• Coordinate with CAD/BIM teams to confirm input requirements and resolve clashes.
• Develop engineering drawings from sketches, layouts, isometrics, and design inputs.
• Create utility layouts, cross sections, routing plans, and related drawings.
• Support model preparation, clash detection, and resolution across disciplines.
• Manage BIM activities from project start-up to completion.
• Review drawings for readability, quality, and standards alignment.
• Produce schedules and model-based data for reporting and reviews.
• Document design changes and maintain audit trails.
