Job summary

Minor Hotels seeks a dedicated Laundry & Housekeeping Supervisor for Desert Islands Resort & Spa by Anantara in Abu Dhabi. You will oversee cleanliness of laundry and team areas, enforce health & safety standards, and ensure SOP/LSOP compliance while coaching staff and coordinating with suppliers.

You will maintain linen inventories, par levels, and strive for waste reduction, overtime control, and exceptional VIP guest service during openings and events.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to coach and onboard new staff.
• Knowledge of SOPs/LSOPs and health & safety standards.
• Experience maintaining linen inventory and par levels.
• Experience coordinating with suppliers and open lines of communication.
• Ability to minimize wastage and manage overtime effectively.
• Strong VIP service and guest-relations mindset.

Responsibilities

• Ensure that the laundry and Team Member areas are properly cleaned at all times.
• Ensure all health & safety requirements are adhered to, including the use of chemicals.
• Ensure that all staff are aware of and follow departmental SOPs and LSOPs.
• Coach and guide new team members, providing orientation and ongoing training.
• Assist in managing relationships with suppliers.
• Maintain records for linen inventory, uniforms, and other items.
• Ensure par levels of linen, towels and uniforms are current and in line with inventory.
• Develop a motivational working environment within the department and maintain positive cross-department relations.
• Minimize wastage of materials and ensure amenities usage is efficient.
• Control overtime through effective management and rapid problem response.
• Support Task Force Missions for opening Minor Hotels and other events.
• Meet VIP requirements.

Job Description

• Ensure that par levels of linen, towels and uniforms are current, and in line with inventory.
• Develop and maintain a motivational working environment within the department and positive relations with other departments.
• Initiate measures to minimize all wastage of materials and amenities are used in the department.
• Control overtime through good management and immediate response to problems.
• Attend and support Task Force Missions required to support the opening of new Minor Hotels and other MINT properties, and other special events catered by Minor International.
• Ensure VIP requirements are met.
