Job summary

Abroad Work is seeking a Land Surveyor in Abu-Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. The role focuses on conducting surveys to delineate land boundaries and support construction projects, with responsibility for producing accurate maps and data per professional standards.

The candidate will work both independently and as part of a team, using GIS, GNSS and total station technologies. Fluent English is required; Arabic is a plus. A valid driving license and transport access are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Surveying, Geodesy, Cartography or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in land surveying and mapping.
• Excellent communication skills in English; Arabic a plus.

Responsibilities

• Conduct topographic surveys using GNSS receivers, total stations and other survey equipment.

• Calculate coordinates from field data using appropriate formulas.
• Analyze data including distances, directions, elevations and angles; assess terrain features.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Surveying, Geodesy, Cartography or related field
• Minimum 5 years of experience in land surveying and mapping
• In-depth knowledge of surveying, mapping principles, and technologies such as GIS, GNSS and Total Stations.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal in English. Arabic language is a plus.

Job Description

The Land Surveyor will be responsible for conducting a variety of surveys to help identify the location and boundaries of land parcels as well as other projects related to the construction industry in Abu-Dhabi. The Land Surveyor will be responsible for creating maps that accurately depict the area surveyed including boundaries, measurements, areas and other relevant information. The successful candidate will ensure that all surveying activities are conducted accurately and according to professional standards while adhering to safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Conduct topographic surveys using GNSS receivers, total stations and other survey equipment.
• Prepare detailed reports on the results of surveys including sketches and diagrams depicting the area surveyed.
• Calculate coordinates using mathematical formulas from survey data collected from field observations.
• Analyze data collected from surveys including measurements of distance, direction, elevation and angles between points on Earth's surface including terrain features such as distances between lines or points on maps or charts.
• Maintain accurate records of all work completed and present findings to clients or management personnel in both written and oral form.
• Participate in team meetings with colleagues or clients to discuss progress or review findings when necessary.
