Job summary

AL Marwan General Contracting Company is seeking an experienced Lab Technician to perform concrete and aggregate testing, monitor material quality, and maintain laboratory records for projects in the UAE.

The ideal candidate has hands-on testing experience, familiarity with ASTM/BS standards, and the ability to work with site teams to ensure compliance with project specifications.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in a ready-mix concrete (RMC) plant laboratory, testing laboratory, or construction project.
• Knowledge of concrete and aggregate testing procedures and relevant ASTM/BS standards.
• Hands-on experience operating concrete compression testing machines and other laboratory equipment.
• Understanding of concrete sampling, curing, and compressive strength testing.

Responsibilities

• Collect and test fresh concrete samples at batching plants and project sites.
• Prepare, label, cure, and test concrete cubes and cylinders.
• Conduct compressive strength tests and record test results accurately.
• Perform aggregate tests, including sieve analysis, moisture content, and grading.
• Assist with concrete trial mixes and quality control activities.
• Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure it is clean, calibrated, and functioning properly.
• Prepare test reports and maintain accurate laboratory records.
• Identify and report test results that do not meet required specifications.
• Follow laboratory safety procedures and applicable testing standards.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in a ready-mix concrete (RMC) plant laboratory, testing laboratory, or construction project.
• Knowledge of concrete and aggregate testing procedures and relevant ASTM/BS standards.
• Hands-on experience operating concrete compression testing machines and other laboratory equipment.
• Understanding of concrete sampling, curing, and compressive strength testing.
• Good numerical, analytical, and record-keeping skills.
• Ability to work independently and coordinate with quality control and site teams.
