Job summary

The St. Regis Abu Dhabi, located in Nation Tower on the Corniche, is seeking a Kitchen and refrigeration technician responsible for maintaining kitchen and laundry equipment and ensuring all related appliances operate at peak condition.

Join our luxury hotel team to support HACCP-compliant maintenance, timely repairs, and safe operation of commercial kitchen systems while delivering the high standards of service expected at The St. Regis brand.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• 2 years work experience as Kitchen Technician.
• Experience in hotel engineering or maintenance is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Attend daily briefing.
• Performs major and/or minor repair and maintenance of kitchen equipment including hot cooking and refrigeration equipment as well as laundry equipment.
• Follow routine Preventive & corrective Maintenance task activity of kitchen & laundry equipment; repair electrical and gas operated equipment to high standard.
• Ensure kitchen & laundry equipment are in proper working condition.
• Coordinate and prioritize repair tasks to respond quickly and reduce downtime.
• Inspect and verify operation and safety of commercial kitchen appliances.

Job Requirement

POSITION PURPOSE The Kitchen and refrigeration technician is responsible for the maintenance of kitchen and laundry equipment and related appliances in the hotel and makes sure overall equipment are in greatest condition.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :

• Attend daily briefing
• Performs major and/or minor repair and maintenance of kitchen equipment including hot cooking and refrigeration equipment as well Laundry equipment.
• Follow the routine Preventive& corrective Maintenance task activity of kitchen & laundry equipment and recorded accordingly. All electrical and gas operated equipment to be repaired and maintained at high standard.
• Make sure all kitchen & laundry equipment in proper and in good working condition.
• Responsible for coordination and prioritizing repair tasks to respond in a timely manner and provide timely repairs and reduced downtime.
• Implement the task activity in Restaurant, Back of House, Kitchen and Laundry equipment and others hotel area for troubleshooting or routine Preventive Maintenance activity.
• Handle the routine checklist for overall kitchen compliance in the property with HACCP and hygiene standards
• Maintain all lighting in laundry & kitchen area including lighting at cold rooms, fridge etc
• Update daily performance and follow up in Log Book
• Perform any other duties that may be assigned to him
• Able to work any shift that is assigned to him by Management or Supervisor
• Assist to others section or technician in overall activity, especially for electrician
• Assist Duty Engineer to re-stock the daily consumable material in workshop area such as Essential and consumable material
• Order and maintain inventory of equipment spare parts as needed
• Responsible for attending new equipment training.
• Training and demonstrating team members in the proper safe use and operation of equipment.
• Inspect and verify the operation and safety of commercial kitchen appliances.
• Knowledge of commercial refrigeration and kitchen equipment

Preferred Qualifications

Education: High school diploma or G.E.D equivalent.

Related Work Experience: 2 years work experience as Kitchen Technician

Experience in hotel engineering or maintenance a plus.
