A little taste of your day‑to‑day:
  • Analyse, troubleshoot, install, rebuild, adjust and replace commercial kitchen appliances, commercial refrigeration equipment and HVAC equipment. May include, but not limited to: Walk‑ins, steamers, convection ovens, dishwashers, booster heaters, warmers, exhaust hoods, serving lines, ice machines, bearings, motors, heat exchanges, boilers, air conditioner compressors, exhaust systems and chillers.
  • Perform major and/or minor repair, as well as preventative and corrective maintenance of commercial kitchen appliances, commercial refrigeration and HVAC equipment.
  • Track work orders and be responsible for coordination and prioritising repair tasks to respond in a timely manner and provide timely repairs and reduced downtime. Repair and maintain all low voltage, equipment voltage and control voltages.
  • Inspect, repair, modify and install refrigeration equipment not limited to compressors, chillers, receivers, condensers, pumps, automatic and hand valves.
  • Lubricate and pack heating, ventilation, refrigeration, and air‑conditioning motors, pumps, fans and other equipment.
  • Install and calibrate systems, install and repair copper tubing pipes as necessary, leak test joints and insulate pipes of refrigeration and air conditioning systems, flush boilers, descale tubes, maintain pressure and temperature safety valves and water pumps.
  • Install, rebuild, replace or repair fans, motors, thermostats, fuses, filters, bearings, valves, controls, gaskets and other equipment as necessary.
What we need from you:
  • Minimum of 2–3 years’ experience in a similar role, preferably in a luxury hotel or hospitality environment.
  • Diploma or certification in Mechanical, Electrical, or Refrigeration Engineering (or a related field).
  • Flexibility to work in shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
  • Proven experience in the maintenance and repair of kitchen and laundry equipment (e.g., dishwashers, ovens, steamers, washing machines, dryers, and ironing systems).
  • Strong understanding of electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems related to kitchen and laundry operations.
  • Ability to perform preventive maintenance and troubleshoot equipment faults efficiently.
  • Knowledge of safety standards, HACCP guidelines, and hotel maintenance procedures.
  • Strong organisational and time‑management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks under pressure.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams and schematics.
  • A proactive, solution‑oriented mindset with attention to detail.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills — you’ll collaborate with chefs, housekeeping/laundry and engineering teams to ensure smooth daily operations.
  • A commitment to quality, cleanliness and maintaining the luxury standards expected in a 5‑star environment.
