Job Description

We invite you to join the world of luxury hospitality at Raffles Dubai as a Ken Fix‑It Technician responsible for preventive and corrective maintenance of guestrooms, ensuring all facilities, equipment and fixtures remain in excellent operating condition and meet hotel quality, safety, and brand standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out scheduled Preventive Maintenance (PPM) of guestrooms in accordance with the approved maintenance programme.
  • Perform multi‑skilled maintenance, including civil, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, painting and minor furniture repairs.
  • Repair tasks such as grouting, silicone replacement, paint touch‑ups, door hardware adjustments, plumbing fixture repairs, electrical troubleshooting, and Guest Room Management System device troubleshooting.
  • Service and replace components for curtain systems, Fun Coil Units (FCU), filters, actuators, and perform chilled water condensation flushing.
  • Inspect guestrooms during PPM, identify defects and coordinate corrective actions.
  • Complete maintenance records accurately and update work orders upon completion.
  • Ensure all tools, materials and spare parts are available before commencing work and maintain housekeeping quality.
  • Report recurring defects, equipment failures or major repairs requiring specialist intervention.
  • Comply with hotel health, safety, environmental and engineering procedures while maintaining a professional appearance in guest areas.
  • Support other engineering team members and perform additional duties as assigned by the Engineering Manager.
Qualifications
  • Diploma or Trade Certificate in Mechanical, Electrical, Air Conditioning, Building Maintenance or a related technical discipline.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in hotel engineering or facilities maintenance, preferably within a luxury hotel environment.
  • Good command of written and spoken English.

Skills & Competencies
  • Strong knowledge of guestroom preventive maintenance across civil, electrical, plumbing, HVAC and carpentry disciplines.
  • Working knowledge of Guest Room Management Systems (GRMS) and hotel room equipment.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Good communication, teamwork and time‑management skills.
  • Safety‑conscious with a proactive, guest‑focused attitude.
