Job summary

Vanderlande in Dubai is seeking a Junior UI/UX Designer to assist the Senior Product Designer in creating intuitive interfaces for logistics and operational platforms. You will translate complex data into clean, scalable UIs and work closely with design and frontend leadership to bridge mockups and production-ready code.

You will contribute to design system growth, prototype new features like AI-assisted dashboards, and help hand off assets to the frontend team.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of UI/UX design experience or a strong portfolio demonstrating complex problem-solving.
• Proficiency in Figma and Adobe XD.
• Solid understanding of user-centered design principles, typography, color theory, and enterprise/B2B layouts.
• Attention to pixel-perfect design and data-heavy interfaces.
• Strong communication to articulate design rationale and feedback.

Responsibilities

• Design wireframes, high-fidelity mockups, and interactive prototypes for web apps and dashboards.
• Maintain and expand design system for visual consistency across modules.
• Create modular UI components compatible with Vue.js/Vuetify and CSS.

You will play a crucial role in translating complex data such as journey tracking, operational reports, and AI-driven assistant modules into clean, scalable, and highly functional user interfaces.

About The Role

We are looking for a highly motivated Junior UI/UX Designer to assist our Senior Product Designer in shaping intuitive, user-centered interfaces for complex logistics, tracking, and operational platforms. You will play a crucial role in translating complex data such as journey tracking, operational reports, and AI-driven assistant modules into clean, scalable, and highly functional user interfaces.

You will work directly alongside senior design and frontend engineering leadership, gaining hands-on experience in bridging the gap between high-fidelity mockups and production-ready code.

Key Responsibilities

• Design Support: Assist the Senior Product Designer in creating wireframes, high-fidelity mockups, and interactive prototypes for web applications and operational dashboards.
• System Consistency: Help maintain and expand our design system, ensuring visual consistency across various application modules (e.g., summary views, tracking dashboards, and settings modules).
• Component Design: Design modular UI components that align with modern frontend frameworks (such as Vue.js, Vuetify and pure CSS).
• Prototyping New Features: Support the design phase of new initiatives, including AI drawer assistants, proactive reporting interfaces, and journey visualization tools.
• Developer Handoff: Prepare design assets, specs, and documentation to ensure seamless handoffs to the frontend engineering team.
• Collaboration: Participate in brainstorming sessions, design reviews, and strategic UX integration planning.

Required Qualifications

• Experience: 1–2 years of experience in UI/UX design (or a strong portfolio of academic/personal projects demonstrating complex problem-solving).
• Design Tools: High proficiency in industry-standard design tools (Figma and Adobe XD is essential).
• UX Fundamentals: Solid understanding of user-centered design principles, typography, color theory, and layout structures for enterprise or B2B platforms.
• Attention to Detail: A keen eye for pixel-perfect design and an understanding of how to structure data-heavy interfaces cleanly.
• Communication: Strong ability to communicate design rationale and actively incorporate feedback from senior team members.

Bonus Points (Nice to Have)

• Familiarity with frontend technologies (HTML, CSS, Tailwind CSS, or Vue.js/Vuetify) to better understand developer constraints.
• Interest or experience in designing interfaces for AI tools and heavy operational UI.
• Experience with data visualization (e.g., charting and graph UI).
