• Experience with workplace safety standards and practices.
• Ability to conduct periodic diagnostic work and repairs.
• Knowledge of equipment maintenance and fault diagnosis requirements.

Responsibilities

• Communicate extra operational activities to the billing department.
• Serve as contact point for carriers and customers.
• Handle administrative follow-up on bookings and deliveries.
• Provide solutions for complaints per procedures.
• Deliver accurate and operational data to team leader/manager.
• Assist in the drafting and optimization of procedures.
• Perform gate work alternately with colleagues.

Description

• Gain experience in all aspects of workplace related practices and DP World safety standards.
• Develop skills and build on knowledge to carry out planned maintenance on all items related to Reefer and general cooling systems.
• To learn to provide maximum operational availability of equipment by conducting periodic diagnostic work and repairs.
• To keep the Supervisor and other experienced technicians informed of progress & problems to ensure smooth flow of communication.
• To maintain tidiness and cleanliness of workshop facilities/Work areas and all equipment thereby creating a safe and healthy work environment.
• Gain knowledge and hands on experience on how to carry out fault diagnosis on the equipment and ascertain the cause of defects repair methods and spare part requirements.
• Get familiarized in the methods of being able to select the correct spare parts and obtain technical information from the manufacturers parts and technical manuals.
• Be able to carry out the above duties with guidance and supervision of more experienced technicians and independently where applicable.
• Start on a foundation to build on knowledge across DPW Engineering sections inclusive of plant & crane as well as mechanical and electrical works.
