Job summary

dnata is seeking a Junior Maintenance Technician in Dubai to support technicians in maintenance, servicing, fault finding, and repair of equipment and vehicles across dnata Technical Services Workshops.

You will help with scheduled maintenance, housekeeping, logbook entries, and safety compliance in a fast-paced aviation support environment.

Qualifications

• Completed a 2-year trade certificate in an engineering discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of maintenance experience in facilities, auto, electric, civil or mechanical.
• Experience in aviation ground support or cargo handling is preferred.
• Knowledge of mechanical/electrical/electronic/auto air-con and refrigeration systems is an advantage.
• English communication skills are required; UAE driving license is preferred (not required in cargo areas).

Responsibilities

• Maintain workshop housekeeping and care for tools.
• Assist in diagnosing and repairing faults on equipment/vehicles to minimize downtime.
• Record all work in log books and maintenance management systems.
• Follow safety procedures to prevent injuries and equipment damage.
• Notify technicians of spare parts and tools needed to complete tasks.
• Assist scheduled maintenance per manufacturers' recommendations, ISO and regulatory standards.
• Inspect equipment/vehicles daily for reliability and safety.
• Support ULD repairs/assembly per MOE/EASA/GCAA standards.
• Assist in maintaining facility equipment including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, GPU, PCA, and generators.

Job Description

As a Junior Maintenance Technician, you will provide required support to Technicians and assist in carrying out all scheduled and non-scheduled maintenance, servicing, fault finding and repair on all equipment /vehicles and plant maintained by various dnata Technical Services Workshops. This includes housekeeping and ad hoc tasks as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Maintain good housekeeping in the workshop & other work areas and take proper care of tools.
• Assist in diagnosing and repairing faults/defects effectively on equipment/vehicles and plant under breakdown ensuring that down time is minimized.
• Ensure that all work-related activities carried out during the shift are recorded in the log book/work order to help planning staff log the details of work done in the Maintenance Management Systems.
• Ensure that standard safety procedures are followed during maintenance activities to prevent any personal injury or equipment/vehicle and plant damage.
• Inform the Maintenance Technician/Senior Maintenance Technician of any spare parts & tools that are needed to ensure timely completion of all maintenance works.
• Assist in carrying out scheduled maintenance as per set standards (includes manufacturers recommendation, ISO certification requirements, safety standards, and all Legal & regulatory requirements) on the various equipment/vehicles and plants to ensure reliable/optimum utilization of the same.
• Assist in the daily inspection of all equipment/vehicles and plant for operational reliability & safety, to help plan for corrective maintenance and to prevent accidents in the operational area.
• Execute all allocated tasks related to ULD Repairs/ Assembly activities as per the procedure mentioned in MOE, manufacturers recommendation, EASA/ GCAA regulation, and safety standards.
• Assist maintenance technicians to maintain/repair facility equipment's including HVAC, Electrical and Plumbing, as well as Ground Power Unit (GPU) and Preconditioned Air (PCA) and generators.

Qualification

• Have completed a 2 years Trade certificate course in an engineering discipline.
• Possess a minimum of 3 years experience in maintenance - Facilities, Auto, Electric, Civil, Mechanic within a large maintenance organization, ideally aviation ground support and, or Cargo Handling Industry.

Additional Consideration Will Be Given To Candidates Who

• Have knowledge of mechanical/electrical/electronic/automobile/air-con & refrigeration systems of Light Vehicles or Material Handling Equipment/Systems. Experience in maintenance of Ground Support Equipment or Heavy Vehicles or would be an advantage.
• Have any specialized training on hydraulics/lifting equipment/conveyor systems/material handling equipment/PLC's/AC-DC motor control systems/Traction batteries & chargers would be an advantage.
• Have proven ability to communicate in English (verbal & written).
• Have a UAE Driving license , Home Country Driving License (not required in Cargo areas)
• Have a valid licence for operating equipment (ADP) (not required in Cargo areas)
