About The Role

We are looking for a Junior Buyer - Babywear and/or Kidswear with Non-clothing category experience who will work closely with the buying lead. This person will own a section of the departmental buy (e.g., a category) and drive sales through high-quality merchandise at advantageous prices. The Junior Buyer manages brand relationships and oversees the end-to-end product process.

The ideal candidate will have a strong buying background in Non-clothing categories such as strollers, car seats, kids furniture, etc. The role covers Mamas & Papas stores and e-commerce across the GCC region.

What You’ll Be Doing

Strategic Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Develop a detailed understanding of the department and market trends for the category. Collaborate with the Buyer/line manager to define product strategy and execute it with the principal brand(s) through the right assortment.
  • Incorporate store team and customer feedback to build the assortment for the category.
  • Present performance insights and analysis regularly to VP of Buying, Head of Buying, and other senior management. Respond promptly to feedback and requests.

Functional Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Research industry trends and source new brands or product areas to include in the portfolio.
  • Maintain communication with suppliers, assist with ordering, delivery, and payments to minimize issues.
  • Support the Buyer in sourcing high-quality merchandise at the best prices from domestic and international suppliers to maximize sales and margins.
  • Place re-orders in consultation with buyers and communicate relevant information to planning and supply chain teams.
  • Keep accurate vendor agreement records and forward completed agreements to Merchandise Planning.
  • Consolidate buying feedback and prepare reports and recommendations for the brand portfolio.
