Job summary

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Junior Architect to join our UAE team in Abu Dhabi. You will assist in designing residential, commercial, and mixed-use projects, create 3D models, and prepare technical drawings under senior guidance.

You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, coordinate with site teams, and help deliver designs that meet client needs, budgets, and schedules while staying updated on industry trends and sustainability standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Architecture from a recognized university.
• 8+ years of professional experience in architecture, preferably in the UAE or GCC region.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation and development of architectural designs and concepts for a variety of projects (residential, commercial, mixed-use, etc.).
• Prepare drawings, specifications, and presentations under the guidance of senior architects.
• Develop 3D models and architectural visualizations using Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, and BIM.
• Assist in coordination between design and construction teams, ensuring that designs are correctly implemented at the site level.
• Work closely with clients, consultants, and contractors, ensuring that architectural designs meet their requirements, budget, and timelines.
• Keep up to date with the latest industry trends, materials, and technologies to bring innovative ideas to the design process.

Job Description Overview

We are seeking a passionate and talented Junior Architect to join our growing team in the UAE. The successful candidate will assist in the design and development of architectural projects, providing technical expertise and creative solutions while working closely with senior architects and multidisciplinary teams.

Your role

Design Support

Assist in the preparation and development of architectural designs and concepts for a variety of projects (residential, commercial, mixed-use, etc.)

Technical Documentation

Prepare drawings, specifications, and presentations under the guidance of senior architects. Support the preparation of tender documents and assist in design reviews.

3D Modelling & Visualization

Develop 3D models and architectural visualizations using software tools such as Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, and BIM.

Site Coordination

Assist in coordination between design and construction teams, ensuring that designs are correctly implemented at the site level.

Client Liaison

Work closely with clients, consultants, and contractors, ensuring that architectural designs meet their requirements, budget, and timelines.

Research & Innovation

Keep up to date with the latest industry trends, materials, and technologies to bring innovative ideas to the design process.

Sustainability

Contribute to sustainable design strategies, ensuring compliance with environmental standards and local regulations.

About you

Education Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Architecture from a recognized university.

Experience 8+ years of professional experience in architecture, preferably in the UAE or GCC region. Internships or academic projects related to architecture will also be considered.

Technical Skills

Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Rhino, and Adobe Creative Suite. Knowledge of BIM tools and processes is a plus.

Design Skills

Strong conceptual and technical design abilities, with a keen eye for detail and quality.

Communication

Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to effectively present ideas and designs.

Collaboration

Strong team player with the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders.

Language Proficiency

In English (Arabic is a plus).

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of local building codes, regulations, and construction practices in the UAE.

Familiarity with sustainable design practices (LEED, Estidama, etc.).
