Job summary

Emirates Electrical & Instrumentation Company LLC is seeking an on-site Electrical Technician for ADNOC-related maintenance and turnarounds in Abu Dhabi. You will carry out maintenance, inspections, testing, troubleshooting, and repairs on electrical systems and equipment across motors, transformers, switchgear, MCCs, UPS, and lighting.

The role requires 3–5 years in Oil & Gas or related industries, strong knowledge of electrical safety, PTW/LOTO, and the ability to read electrical drawings.

Qualifications

  • Diploma/ITI/Bachelors in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • 3–5 years of experience in Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Power, or Industrial facilities.
  • Good knowledge of electrical safety practices, PTW systems, and LOTO procedures.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and technical documentation.
  • Experience in ADNOC projects is an advantage.
  • Physically fit for on-site industrial environments, including shutdowns.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out electrical maintenance, inspection, testing, troubleshooting, and repair activities on electrical systems and equipment.
  • Ensure all work is performed safely and in compliance with HSE policies, PTW requirements, and site regulations.
  • Review permits, job plans, risk assessments, and method statements before commencing activities.
  • Isolate, lock out, and tag out electrical equipment as required and verify safe working conditions before starting work.
  • Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on motors, transformers, switchgear, MCCs, UPS, lighting, and related equipment.
  • Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
  • Coordinate with supervisors, planners, operations personnel, and other maintenance disciplines.
  • Maintain tools and testing equipment, ensuring calibration and proper use.
  • Record completed work and test results in maintenance management systems.
  • Assist during plant shutdowns, turnarounds, commissioning, and emergency maintenance activities.
  • Ensure compliance with electrical standards and regulatory requirements.

Job Description
  • Carry out electrical maintenance, inspection, testing, troubleshooting, and repair activities on electrical systems and equipment in accordance with approved procedures and work instructions.
  • Ensure all work is performed safely and in compliance with company HSE policies, Permit to Work (PTW) requirements, and site regulations.
  • Review work permits, job plans, risk assessments, and method statements before commencing activities.
  • Isolate, lock out, and tag out electrical equipment as required and verify safe working conditions before starting work.
  • Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on motors, transformers, switchgear, MCCs, distribution boards, UPS systems, lighting systems, and associated electrical equipment.
  • Conduct inspections and functional tests of electrical installations and equipment to ensure operational reliability and compliance with standards.
  • Diagnose electrical faults and implement corrective actions to restore equipment to service efficiently.
  • Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
  • Ensure tools, instruments, and testing equipment are maintained, calibrated, and used correctly.
  • Coordinate with supervisors, planners, operations personnel, and other maintenance disciplines to execute assigned work effectively.
  • Verify worksite readiness and ensure required materials, spare parts, and resources are available before starting jobs.
  • Maintain good housekeeping practices and keep work areas clean and safe throughout the job execution.
  • Report equipment defects, unsafe conditions, incidents, and maintenance findings to the Supervisor.
  • Record completed work, test results, and maintenance activities accurately in maintenance management systems and reports.
  • Participate in toolbox talks, safety meetings, and training programs as required.
  • Assist during plant shutdowns, turnarounds, commissioning, and emergency maintenance activities.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable electrical standards, company procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability, safety, and maintenance efficiency.
Qualifications
  • Diploma/ITI/Bachelors inElectrical Engineering or equivalent technical qualification.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Power, or Industrial facilities.
  • Good knowledge of electrical safety practices, PTW systems, and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and technical documentation.
  • Experience in ADNOC projects is an advantage.
  • Physically fit and capable of working in industrial plant environments, including shutdown and turnaround activities.
