Savoury Application Assistant 1 Year open contract role

A Savoury Application Assistant with a global leader in the creation of Taste & Wellbeing and Fragrances & Beauty and a key member of our regional Savoury Flavour creation team and based in our Dubai office Your future position

We are currently looking to expand our Taste & Wellbeing Frontline Technical and Innovation team and hire a Savoury Application Assistant to support the increasing Savoury and Snack project pipeline across our markets in South Asia the Middle East and Africa region. You will support the preparation of Savoury and Snack flavour samples and participate in flavour evaluations and testing. You will manage the flavour application process according to customer project priorities.

You will be responsible for compounding Savoury flavour samples in our Taste & Wellbeing Creation & Application (T&WCA) lab managing raw materials and sending flavour samples to customers. You will be based in our Dubai office and report to the Taste & Wellbeing Seasoning Creator for South Asia the Middle East and Africa.

In this exciting role you will be responsible for:

Savoury flavour application

• Assist the Regional Chef & Seasoning Creator in managing the Savoury and Snack project pipeline.
• With speed and accuracy help apply Savoury and Snack flavour formulas in our Taste & Wellbeing Creation & Application (T&WCA) lab to prepare flavoured food products for customer projects and research projects.
• Support recipe development trials in the T&WCA lab under the guidance of the Regional Chef & Seasoning Creator.
• Label and ship flavour samples to customers and other Givaudan sites across the region.
• Participate in evaluations of flavours in food applications for customer briefs research projects and portfolio evaluations.
• Proactively organise raw materials and their proper storage.
• Assist in organising tasting sessions and presentations for internal teams customer visits and innovation days.

Data management

• Enter and maintain project status recipe documentation and flavour data in the Givaudan internal database software.
• Actively maintain the performance data for the flavour portfolio by evaluating the finished product and capturing flavour profiles.

Prioritise safety

• Maintain a safe clean organised laboratory environment for the Savoury space by observing Environment Health and Safety guidelines and Givaudans good laboratory practices.

Your professional profile includes:

• Currently already based in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
• A Bachelors Degree in Culinary Hotel Management Food Science and or Food Technology.
• 2 years of relevant work experience in some reputed hotel kitchens lab applications centre R&D innovation or production facility with a credible company in the Flavour Food Beverage Ingredients or Chemicals sectors.
• Have a passion and interest in cooking new flavours foods and welldeveloped tasting skills.
• Nonallergic to any specific food ingredients.
• Basic knowledge of lab equipment and the handling of raw materials or chemicals used to perform lab functions.
• Good project management skills.
• A team player and comfortable with diversity.
