Job summary

Ericsson is seeking an experienced IT System Expert in Dubai to design, deploy, and manage OpenShift container platforms and Linux infrastructure. You will lead lifecycle management, perform health checks, and implement security hardening, while collaborating across infra, app, and security teams.

Ideal candidates have 8–10+ years in IT infrastructure, strong OCP/RHEL skills, and automation experience with Ansible, Bash, and monitoring tools.

Qualifications

• 8–10+ years of IT infrastructure administration experience.
• Strong hands-on OpenShift (OCP 4.x) and RHEL administration.
• Solid Kubernetes understanding and container orchestration knowledge.
• Experience with Ansible, Bash/Shell scripting, and automation.
• Good networking knowledge: DNS, TCP/IP, load balancers, firewalls, SSL/TLS.
• Familiarity with monitoring/logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Elasticsearch, Kibana).
• Desirable Solaris administration, Red Hat Satellite, and container security knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Administer, maintain, and support OpenShift Container Platform environments.
• Install, configure, patch, upgrade, and troubleshoot RHEL servers.
• Manage OpenShift clusters: control plane, workers, operators, services.
• Monitor cluster health, plan capacity, tune performance, troubleshoot issues.
• Implement security hardening, RBAC, certificates, and compliance standards.
• Support containerized deployments and CI/CD integration.
• Patch OS, remediate vulnerabilities, and manage lifecycle.
• Troubleshoot Linux, OpenShift, networking, storage, and container issues.
• Collaborate with infra, app, database, and security teams on complex problems.
• Develop automation with Ansible and shell scripts.
• Prepare documentation, SOPs, diagrams, and runbooks.
• Participate in incident, change, and release management processes.
• Provide Level 3 support and escalation for OpenShift and Linux platforms.

About This Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled IT System Expert with strong expertise in Red Hat OpenShift and Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) administration. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the design, deployment, administration, troubleshooting, and lifecycle management of OpenShift container platforms and Linux infrastructure. Experience with Oracle Solaris administration is desirable.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer, maintain, and support Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform (OCP) environments.
• Install, configure, upgrade, patch, and troubleshoot Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) servers.
• Manage OpenShift clusters, including control plane and worker nodes, operators, and platform services.
• Perform cluster health monitoring, capacity planning, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
• Implement and maintain security hardening, RBAC, authentication, certificate management, and compliance standards.
• Support containerized application deployments and CI/CD integration.
• Perform operating system patching, upgrades, vulnerability remediation, and lifecycle management.
• Troubleshoot Linux OS, OpenShift platform, networking, storage, and container-related issues.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, application, database, and security teams to resolve complex technical issues.
• Develop and maintain automation using Ansible and shell scripting.
• Prepare technical documentation, SOPs, architecture diagrams, and operational runbooks.
• Participate in incident, problem, change, and release management processes.
• Provide Level 3 technical support and serve as the technical escalation point for OpenShift and Linux platforms.

Required Skills

• 8–10+ years of IT Infrastructure Administration.
• Strong hands‑on experience with Red Hat OpenShift (OCP 4.x) administration.
• Strong administration experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL 7/8/9).
• Good understanding of Kubernetes architecture, container orchestration, and container runtime technologies.
• Experience with OpenShift Operators, Routes, Projects, Networking, Storage Classes, Persistent Volumes, and Image Registry.
• Linux system administration, performance tuning, troubleshooting, and security hardening.
• Experience with Ansible, Bash/Shell scripting, and infrastructure automation.
• Good knowledge of networking concepts, including DNS, TCP/IP, Load Balancers, Firewalls, and SSL/TLS.
• Experience integrating enterprise storage solutions (SAN/NFS/CSI).
• Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Elasticsearch, and Kibana.

Good to Have

• Oracle Solaris (10/11) administration.
• Red Hat Satellite.
• Kubernetes certifications and container security knowledge.
