Overview
The IT Helpdesk Technician is responsible for the installation, configuration and maintenance of hardware and software of the remote Offices, providing end-user support to office staff as well as remotely to other offices worldwide. Position reports directly to Senior IT Helpdesk Engineer in Dubai.
Responsibilities
- Provides direct front line software and hardware support by the helpdesk platform.
- Configures new user workstation equipment, user accounts, corporate software.
- Updates and manage the IT asset inventory.
- Performs periodic maintenance on corporate client devices according to corporate policies.
- Support global implementations software/hardware.
- Coordinates with IT suppliers to meet Corporate IT requirements.
- Contacts periodically Branch offices to get feedback about any IT issue.
- Ensures implementation of global IT policies.
- Ensures issues are tracked, resolved in a timely manner.
- Documents procedures and implementations.
Skills
- IT technical background with 6-7 years of working experience in the IT support industry.
- Good understanding of Networking concepts, TCP/IP networking, physical wiring, switching, routing, and firewall.
- Manage data center operations, including virtualization, storage technologies (SAN, NAS), and backups using Commvault, Veeam.
- Hands-on experience with Virtual Platform like VMware and Hyper-V. Experience with any other virtual platform is an added advantage.
- Support vulnerability management, security compliance, and disaster recovery for critical IT systems.
- Experience with security devices such as firewall and basic configuration of network devices like routers and switches.
- Candidate MUST have a strong understanding of leading EDR/XDR solutions available in the market.
- Must have work experience in handling service desk tickets through helpdesk support portal.
- Must have the ability to support users remotely using remote support tools as per company standard.
- Develop and maintain backup and disaster recovery plans to ensure business continuity.
- Experience working with ISP across the region with special focus on ISP policies and procedures.
- Should have strong analytical skills and problem-solving attitude.
- Strong experience in configuring and troubleshooting Windows 10, 11, MS Office 2016/2019.
- Prior experience in IT Process automation will be added advantage.
- Experience in Office 365 products in managing e-mail accounts, Teams and OneDrive for Business.
- IT Security Certificate like CompTIA Security + or CEH V10 or above (Certified Ethical Hacker) is an added advantage.
- Demonstrated ability to draft and implement manuals and procedures.
- Strong oral and written English. Italian, French or any other language, is an added advantage.
- Team player with ability to work within culturally diverse environments and with minimum supervision.
- Provide after-hours support as needed to maintain business continuity.
Education & Training
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or a related discipline.
- Certifications- Microsoft Certified Engineer (MCSA), VMware Certified Engineer, Backup certification (Veeam, Commvault), CCNA.
- Experience- 6-7 years of experience managing IT infrastructure, with expertise in data center technologies, including Microsoft Servers, VMware, SAN/NAS storage, and backups (Commvault, Veeam).
- Certification like ITIL is an added advantage.
- Strong knowledge of Active Directory, Hyper-V, Vmware, Office 365, and security management.
