The role requires a strong background in ISO 14001 EMS, plus a track record of 10+ years in environmental management within the UAE or GCC region.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field.
• Professional certifications such as CEM or NEBOSH Environmental Management.
• Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in environmental management, preferably within the UAE or GCC region.
• Proven track record in implementing and managing ISO 14001 certified Environmental Management Systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive environmental management systems (EMS) aligned with Abu Dhabi's regulatory framework and international standards like ISO
• Oversee all environmental compliance activities, ensuring adherence to local laws, permits, and reporting requirements from entities like the Environment Agency - Abu Dhabi (EAD).
• Conduct regular environmental impact assessments (EIAs) for new projects and operational changes, proposing mitigation strategies to minimize ecological footprint.
• Manage waste management programs, focusing on reduction, reuse, recycling, and safe disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous waste streams.
