The Boring Company is seeking an Inventory Manager in Dubai to own end-to-end inventory for the Dubai project, starting hands-on as a founding member of the function and scaling the team and warehouse operations. You will oversee TBM spares, precast plant materials, site equipment, and international logistics, working closely with purchasing, customs, and vendors to ensure uptime and compliant operations.

Formación

• 3+ years in inventory control within construction or heavy industry.
• Hands-on with SAP or MOS/MES and scanner data tools.
• Experience with cycle counts and root-cause analysis.
• Based in UAE or eligible to work in UAE.

Responsabilidades

• Stand up and run inventory function for Dubai project: warehouse layout, storage, slotting, labeling, and best-practice execution from day one
• Oversee day-to-day receiving, storage, and issuance across TBM site, precast plant, and warehouse
• Establish and audit critical spares kits for TBM to protect tunneling uptime
• Maintain inventory records; identify discrepancies and drive corrections
• Perform cycle counts, variance reconciliation, and correction transactions
• Monitor stock levels and reorder points; alert team before low counts impact operations
• Coordinate inbound international shipments, including UAE customs clearance, import documentation, and freight forwarders
• Work with purchasing and vendors on delivery scheduling, receiving inspection, shortages or damaged goods
• Implement and administer inventory management systems and train the team on their use
• Hire, train, and lead inventory and warehouse staff as the function grows
• Ensure warehouse and material handling operations comply with UAE regulations and project safety standards

The Boring Company was founded to solve the problem of soul-destroying traffic by creating an underground network of tunnels. Today, we are creating the technology to increase tunneling speed and decrease costs by a factor of 10 or more, enabling rapid transit across densely populated regions.

We're looking for an Inventory Manager to own inventory end-to-end for the Dubai project — starting hands-on as the founding member of the function and building out the team and warehouse operation as the project scales. Scope covers everything we need to tunnel: TBM spares and components, precast plant raw materials, construction consumables, and site equipment, including the international logistics and UAE customs coordination that gets it all here.

Responsibilities

• Stand up and run the inventory function for the Dubai project: warehouse layout, storage, slotting, labeling, and best-practice execution from day one
• Oversee day-to-day receiving, storage, and issuance of equipment and materials across the TBM site, precast plant, and warehouse
• Establish and audit critical spares kits for the TBM to protect tunneling uptime
• Maintain accurate inventory records on demand; identify discrepancies, investigate root causes, and drive corrections and process improvements for high inventory accuracy
• Perform cycle counts, variance reconciliation, and correction transactions
• Proactively monitor stock levels and reorder points on critical and regular-use materials, and alert the team before low counts impact operations
• Coordinate inbound international shipments, including UAE customs clearance, import documentation, and freight forwarders, for TBM components and project materials
• Work with purchasing and vendors on delivery scheduling, receiving inspection, and resolution of shortages or damaged goods
• Implement and administer inventory management systems and train the team on their use
• Hire, train, and lead inventory and warehouse staff as the function grows
• Ensure warehouse and material handling operations comply with UAE regulations and project safety standards

Qualifications

• 3+ years of inventory control, warehouse, or materials management experience in construction, heavy industry, manufacturing, or oil & gas
• Hands-on knowledge of inventory systems (SAP, MOS/MES, or equivalent) and strong proficiency with scanners, data tools, and spreadsheets
• Proven experience with cycle counting, root-cause analysis of discrepancies, and inventory accuracy programs
• Comfortable in a hands-on, field-adjacent role — this is not a desk-only position
• Currently based in the UAE or GCC region, or eligible to work in the UAE
• Experience with UAE customs processes and import/export documentation strongly preferred
• Experience supporting tunneling, mining, or major Gulf infrastructure projects a plus
• Prior experience building or scaling an inventory/warehouse function a plus

• This role is on site / in person in Dubai, UAE
