Job summary

WSP Middle East invites applications for a Mechanical Engineering intern based in our Sharjah office. Over a three‑month period, you will assist senior engineers in developing detailed designs for chilled water networks, gas distribution systems, and pump stations, gaining hands‑on experience with industry‑standard software.

Responsibilities include drafting hydraulic calculations, creating CAD layouts, and supporting project documentation.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a Mechanical Engineering undergraduate program or recently graduated.
• Strong coursework in fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, and HVAC systems.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit or similar CAD software; familiarity with hydraulic analysis tools is a plus.
• Basic understanding of chilled water, gas and pump station design principles.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Effective written and verbal communication abilities.
• Ability to work independently and in a multidisciplinary team.
• Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work.
• Eligibility to work in the United Arab Emirates for the internship duration.

Responsibilities

• Participate in design review meetings and incorporate feedback.
• Conduct basic performance simulations and generate reports.

This role offers hands‑on experience with industry‑standard software and exposure to large‑scale project workflows.

• Develop schematic and layout drawings for gas distribution systems using CAD tools.
• Support the design of pump stations, including selection of pumps and motor specifications.
• Prepare material take‑offs and cost estimates for mechanical network components.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate mechanical designs into overall project plans.
• Perform data collection and site surveys to validate design assumptions.
• Update and maintain project documentation and design databases.
• Participate in design review meetings and incorporate feedback.
• Conduct basic performance simulations and generate reports.
• Ensure compliance with local codes, standards, and WSP quality procedures.

Qualifications
